1. A midget literally joined us in a game. His midget wife watched us so we took it easy on him.
2. A guy with no forearms. Literally... He could shoot like no tomorrow. I'm not sure how he could catch the ball and shoot so accurately without hands. Mofo could even dribble.

Tom Chambers, Terrell Suggs, Levi Jones (guard for Redskins now), and pretty much the entire ASU basketball teams in 1997 and 1998.
I thought this thread was about "memorable" as in celebrities or NBA/former NBAers that you may have played in a pickup game before. I didn't think it was about "circus freak" memorable....i can, however, see how that might be memorable.
I don't have any experiences with 3-eyed midgets, but I once played a pickup game with Vinny Del Negro. That's all i got.

I don't know writing about Robin Lopez made me think of a guy with no hands.

The guy win no arms sounded like he could ball...i'm pretty impressed, i must admit.
Btw...what kind of venues are you playing in/at that you meet these kind of ballers?

I just play pickup at apartment complexes and a few gyms. The guy with no forearms was a sports complex in Round Rock tx. I was amazed he could shoot at all. You also couldn't really tell when he was going to shoot because the ball was held against his chest and would go directly to a shot not pulling up.

I've played with a few pros and college players... Jimmy King of Fab 5 fame, Jerod Ward, Travis Conlan, Charles Woodson, David Bowens all at the University of Michigan. At New Orleans, also played with Gerald Honeycutt (Tulane), Hollis Price (Oklahoma), Alexi Giannoulias (Boston U), Brian Alkire (UW), Kerry Kittles, Randy Livingston. Couple celebrities I've played with include Dean Cain (pretty good baller), Silkk the Shocker (6'5 but succccckkkkkks), Brian McKnight, the actor who played Julius in "Remember the Titans."
When I was younger, I used to be pretty good. Obviously, not as good as any of those college or pro guys, but I could hold my own on the court. When I did play with some of those guys, I wasn't just standing in the corner not touching the ball at all. Now, I'm in my 30s and when I play, I suck. It's sad.

Used to work out at the Concord in San Antonio, and was routinely kicked off the floor by Spurs and UTSA players. I'm only 5-10/11, 175 lbs, so if I see Robert Horry is playing opposite, I want no part of it to spare myself being embarrassed and exposed. Devin Brown once joined a game I was a part of when he was still with the UTSA team.

I've played quite a few pickup games with Brendon Lavender, a guard for the Arizona Wildcats. He plays at the university rec center pretty often. I've also played a few games with some of the Women's Basketball players, but I don't know their names.

I played against Ariza's team a few times in High School. They pretty much blew us out so it wasn't a good experience. Gabe Pruitt too but he's a no-name. And you can include Bobby Brown now but I didn't know who the hell he was.
I only guarded Ariza a couple times on switches; he was alot bigger and lightning fast.
Ariza was the "star" of his high school team and everybody was oohing and ahing over him back then. Pretty laid-back dude even though he was "the star".

James killed Ariza in high school.
Hahah, yeah, I remember that game. We were talking shit about Ariza after LeBron blew him out. Just typical HS bullshit when your team gets trashed by another team even though we weren't in it and had losing problems of our own :lol
It's been a long time but if I remember right, there was some Ariza/James trash talk before the game or maybe one of the guys made it up...something like that.

I was on the St.John's Div 1 practice team this Summer, I got a tryout as I posted here in July..I could have been a walk-on for the team, but it's kind of pointless..I wouldn't have gotten much playing time due to the system, seniority and the scholarships of the other players, and I wouldn't be getting paid, which is a waste of time when you consider the time that I would need to spend focusing on the team..playing college ball is pointless unless you have a real chance at playing in the pros and/or you don't need to make $, at least IMO..
Telfair a lot through HS, he was the 2nd toughest player I've ever guarded..
Omar Cook was by far the toughest player I've ever guarded, even though they were just pickup games..
Julius Hodge and Allan Ray in 1 game each in HS, but I never guarded either of them..
Edgar Sosa in freshman and sophomore years, he really wasn't that good at the time..I got kicked out of school in junior year, and he blew up in those last years and plays for Louisville now, so I didn't play with him when he was apparently really good..
those are the NBA/potential NBA players I've played against..I've played against a bunch of "known" streetballers too, but they aren't important..

I didn't play against any big or even notable NBA players(Telfair is just an average player), but if you played HS ball in a big city, there's a pretty decent chance that you played against some notables..
The era of bigger NBA stars in NY was before my time..
NY is still by far the best place for streetball and pickup ball though, no contest..

If you've played ball, at some point you will meet up against some future NBA'er.

Yup.
I'll bet there's a good number of Clevelanders who have played LeBron.

Chris Bosh was a little older than me so of course I never got to play against him, but I watched Willie Warren play in the state championship game for Crowley though
