Well after not much long debate i absolutely despise ASHTON KUTCHER, er KUCHER. We all have seen a punk'd back in the day, the worst part was him trying to be funny before he pulled a prank....kill me. So I just had the very unfortunate time to watch the movie "spread", he is by far my most hated actor...in fact i dont even call him an actor. I hope he "dies and eats shit" like one of my friends said when the spurs were playing the lakers. anywhoo, go on i dare u to name someone worse than him.
PS 70s show doesnt count, everthing after that

He's not Francis Ford Coppola's son.
I'm split about 50/50 on him. He's done great work and shit. One thing you can't accuse him of is being reluctant to take a difficult part.

Mookie you have sinned! Val Kilmer????????? WTF!!!!! okay, nic i get why ud say him, luke id even get (tho he is the godfather), but val kilmer, val fucking kilmer? Okay the last 5 years he's spent making straight to dvd movies, and alexander, he sucks. But lets not forget one of the greatest performances in western history....Doc Holliday. He played that part to a T. He was great, great. And shit ill even throw in Top Gun, who doesn't like iceman in top gun? C'mon. He's also good in the real mccoy, kiss kiss bang bang, the saint hes decent, The DOORS (played jim morrison like a badass), willow (what would willow be without madtigan?). Val is far from one of the worst-but hey if you hated him from all those great peformances he put out that is your perogative

Actually he was pretty good in The Rock, and Gone in 60 Seconds. My most hated actor is Jason Stantham. For the life of me I can't understand why this man continues to get leading roles. And its not just the fact he gets the leading role, all of his movies seem to make it to theaters. :bang Shia Lewhatever is okay. He has a kinda dry humor that is sorta funny sometimes.

I'm with the mookster on Val Kilmer...he completely sucks ass.
He's been completely awesome in one movie, Tombstone, and he's sucked incalcuably in all others.
He epitomizes the actor who is just playing himself in every role. Any movie I see him in, first thing I think is...that's Val Kilmer...acting.

I don't like Ben Afleck either. To tell you the truth I am pretty sick of Denzel Washington too.

It's not my fault you can be entertained by simply staring at a wall....or something even more boring, like Last of the Mohicans.
Let me be clear on this, I have an extremely high tolerance for shitty movies...I have attempted to watch Last of the Mohicans 5 or maybe 6 times, and every single time I have attempted it, I have fallen asleep, including once when I was on meth. And another time when I was peaking on LSD. I purposely attempted to see it just as I was peaking so that I would not fall asleep during it. It's the only move I have ever fallen asleep during in the theater. And that happened twice.
Why I have attempted to watch it 5-6 times? Because of asshats like yourself that insist it doesn't completely suckass. When in fact it does.

For some reason I have always liked Cage and Keeanu. I think it was because I grew up watching them in their action movies and it makes me nostalgic. Cage is like the every day man. I have not seen any of his new movies other than national treasure because they do not appeal to me.
Also, I want to dislike Cruise but he delivers in almost all of his movies.
I just hate when they have a good story, turn it into a movie, and just plug in a cookie cutter big name actor (i.e., Will Smith in I Am Legend) and make it all about the actor and not the story. It makes me sad.

Are you high? Sure, the Pirates movies were overblown and lame but do you think Johnny Depp is solely to blame for that? The movies did star Orlando Bloom (whom I'd like to add to my most hated list) and Keira Knightly, too.

I don't think Cage is a bad actor. I think he just picks bad projects. He was excellent in Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off, and Lord Of War. I think movies like Knowing, Next, The Weather Man, etc., would have sucked regardless of who played the lead.

OT but if yall ever get a chance to see the 80s movie No Man's Land with charlie sheen- watch it, fast and the furious totally rips it off in every way, its shameless
a los angeles racing car thief, a young up and coming blonde undercover police officer goes undercover to bust up the organization, the narc gets too close, falls in love with the sister of the target, starts to enjoy the life, meets with his police bosses and they tell him hes getting too close. then has to make a choice at the end
its hilarious

i define good as whether or not i would enjoy smoking a joint while watching or if i would buy it on dvd. i'll stand by carrey having 2 good movies
But I'd wager that you haven't bought a DVD in the second half of 2000's, it's like saying I only like the AIDS virus if I don't contract it.
I can't comment on The Majestic or Eternal Sunshine, but will watch these movies eventually.
Liar Liar, Truman Show, and Yes Man I all liked. But Yes Man did kind of remind me of Liar Liar. Still made me laugh though.
I don't think I'll ever make it through Bruce Almighty. He's not gold but he's made more than two movies, plus Ace Ventura one is on like a totally different planet than the onslaught of hilarity that is Ace Ventura 2.

No doubt.
I've got no issues with her early stuff. People liked Steel Magnolias and Pretty Woman, that made her a star, fine, I can accept that. She was even pretty sexy in Sleeping With the Enemy.
After that she had a run of really pathetic roles in movies like Hook, I Love Trouble, The Pelican Brief and Mary Reilly... roles that basically exposed her as a one-trick-pony romantic comedy actress.
Then comes My Best Friend's Wedding, where she plays an unforgivably evil role as a scheming bitch trying to break up her friend's wedding because she is so distraught over being single in her late twenties, so she decides she's entitled to marry her already-engaged longtime friend. And American women ate that shit up, just like they ate up her similar roles as a total piece of shit in Notting Hill and Runaway Bride.
And for Erin Brockovich, which is basically John Travolta's A Civil Action with tits, she's handed what amounted to a Miss Congeniality award in the form of a Best Actress Oscar, beating out one of the greatest female performances in film history (Ellen Burstyn in Requiem).
The icing on the cake is they made a movie called America's Sweethearts and put her in the leading role. They might as well have called it "America's Housewives Love Julia Roberts."
Sandra Bullock is today's Julia Roberts, except nobody considers her any more than a go-to romantic comedy lead. She's not in Oscar discussions or "best actress of our generation" conversations. She's just the go-to lead for mindless rom-com tripe. And I don't begrudge her for that because she and everyone else seem to understand it. She's not taken seriously by anyone.
Frankly, Sandra Bullock has a better command of comedy than Julia Roberts has ever had, and that combined with her dramatic work in Crash (which I also hated but not necessarily because of her - not that she was great but she wasn't distractingly bad either) makes her 10x the actress Roberts is, IMO.
If any other actress had put to film the terrible southern accent Julia Roberts tortured moviegoers with in Charlie Wilson's War, she would have been rightfully skewered by critics and relegated to straight-to-DVD movie roles for the rest of her career. Julia Roberts, because she's Julia Roberts, got a Golden Globe nomination for it.
I'll leave you with this list of movies to consider. This is an unforgivable resumé.

However, if Julia Roberts had played that role, she'd definitely be nominated. The movie would have been released a month later and it would have been nominated for Best Picture. And this kid would have gotten a supporting actor nomination by osmosis.

Okay this thread is about actors we just hate right? Not necessarily based on their acting skills or the entertainment value of their movies? In that case I can't stand Benicio Del Toro. He totally creeps me out---reminds me of some lech who doesn't wash his hair. Also Gwyneth Paltrow--her whiny voice gets on my nerves
The Daniel Day-Lewis argument cracked me up. I think he's a fine actor, but the snooze factor in his films has skyrocketed since "My Beautiful Laundrette". I'll have to agree with Whott here. Given the choice of watching "The Last of the Mohicans" or "Son In Law".....I'll go with the latter :lol

I have not screened Raising Arizona. However, to say Nick was a plus for the Rock is an overstatement: He didn't ruin the movie, despite his best efforts. Sean Connery wouldn't let him, and James Bond dragged Nicks carcass across that set and on shear will made The Rock one of the most awesome movies of all time. Thank you Sean.
Val Kilmer had Real Genius, but he was baaaaad in Batman. Wasn't his fault. He was just not the man for the part. IMHO he wasn't all that bad in Top Gun either.

Thank you Sean.
must just be an unnatural or unjustified hate of nicolas cage because they were both great in it.
Val Kilmer had Real Genius, but he was baaaaad in Batman. Wasn't his fault. He was just not the man for the part. IMHO he wasn't all that bad in Top Gun either.
batman is a pretty boring character anyways. It doesn't matter who you put in it. even the new ones are sorta lame with bale. Is he the wrong guy for the part also? only michael keaton can play batman?

I am a fan of Michael Keaton as Batman. He brought a dry humor into the character while maintaining a cool demeanor. I like Bale's Batman as well, but he is a Batman for a different era. If there is 1 interesting DC hero, it is Batman. Val was given crap to work with (Shcumacker blows) but he hardly fit the part, even what was given to him. I could not believe he was the detective playboy, or a Dark Knight. He was just 'Iceman' from Top Gun.
Honestly, I give credit for Nick not ruining The Rock, but Sean just dominated that film. It was Connery at his best, and Cage just fed off of that. And I am glad, I loved The Rock.

I'm in the industry, and I can tell you that the following guys are constantly mentioned as the luckiest actors on the face of the earth. That is to say, that they actually get paid to act. If you hire these guys, you know what to expect - very little in the form of acting, so don't give them too much to do.
1. Ben Affleck
2. Chris O'Donnell
3. Keanu Reeves
4. Kevin Costner
Sometimes moviestars are made in mysterious ways. And personal tastes obviously vary. Some people may like these particular guys, or actually a lot of people may like them, but they are widely considered very bad actors.

Strictly as an actor? Steven Seagal.
He is just as one dimensional as Keanu Reeves. I hate him more though because he gets way too much credit because of "Above the Law", which I admit, was a pretty badass movie. After that, its all the same character.
At least Seagal is an actual martial artist though, I'll give him that over "Ted" Theodore Logan.

Exactly. Whether or not Pauly Shore has any real acting talent, and I think he has some, Son In Law is entertaining. Can't explain why I like it. I just know that if I'm channel surfing and I stumble across it, I'll watch it until it's over.
With that said, I think Last Of The Mohicans and There Will Be Blood were both damn good movies. I think Daniel Day Lewis is a damn good actor. I usually try to see his films if the subject matter interests me.

That movie sucked ass. I can't believe he won an Oscar for that. Shit like that is what makes the Oscars a joke. It was not brilliant, it was shit. Pretty much every actor he was up against did a better acting job in a more entertaining movie, that is better remembered, and more re-watchable.
I am sorry but that is not a good movie. Yes you might like it, and yes no one else does. Appearing to like it is something people want to do to appear cultured...but I bet you've seen that movie once. I bet you have seen some movies by guys like Tom Cruise more than you have that movie.
Sorry but I know what I like and it's not that shit he puts out...that's not entertainment.
Love how we should credit someone who makes assumptions left and right about another person's choices. I have seen Top Gun, Vanilla Sky, Minority Report, Born of the 4th of July and Jerry McGuire etc...etc... To make a point that I've seen more Cruise movies than I've watched My Left Foot (2 times) is a reach at best, thus you should really scale back on your assumptions.
I didn't argue that Daniel Day Lewis was deserving of the Academy Award for Best Actor, I said it was a good movie. Stop getting your panties all tied-up as if you have some weird, distorted hatred of Daniel Day Lewis--which you really should stop...it's pathetic.
Really? Kenneth Branagh in Henry V? You've watched that movie multiple times? Driving Miss Daisy is a good movie too, but I highly doubt anyone would watch that every time it comes on. Dead Poets Society and Born of the 4th of July are the only ones I've seen more than twice out of the group and were worthy of beating DDL.

i dont see how you can ahte on bill murray based on a couple crappy movies. you want to hate someone for who they have become, the safer bet would be eddie murphy. All he ever did that was worth a shit was beverly hills cops. bill murray has stripes, caddyshack, what about bob, groundhog day, ghostbusters..........
Edde Murphy would've been a better choice, but that's the obvious. I guess I could say I don't hate Murray, just don't really like the latter stuff. All those movies you listed are great...

It's not pathetic in a thread called...are you ready?
"YOUR MOST HATED ACTOR".
In fact, it's totally appropriate. I'd say this is the exact place for it. You OTOH, jocking a shitty movie and shitty actor in that same thread, is what is out of place and inappropriate. Try to comport yourself properly according to the intent of the thread in the future.
And I'm sorry, but there's nothing distorted about it...this guy makes shitty boring movies, and they are never particularly big hits, he just has critics who want to believe they know what a good movie is, and want to sound like they know something from sitting on their ass watching movies that all the other people that sit on their asses watching movies don't, sucking him off.
His movies are not good, they are not truly successful. THey are not entertaining, he is not entertaining. Thus he is a shitty actor.
And he will remain one even if they give him 50 Oscars.
Keanu Reeves is a much better actor.
So was John Wayne.
So is Tom Cruise.
And unfortunately for Daniel Day Lewis..so is Pauly Shore.
They are all more watchable than DDL...more entertaining, and the only reason to ever watch a Daniel Day-Lewis movie is because you are hoping you will get laid by doing so.
Fact.
And please, try to keep your positive DDL comments to a minimum and respect the thread starters wishes.
If you want to jock DDL, start a thread doing so. It won't go more than two pages...because DDL is boring, and so are his movies.
