Still looking for a big worth a damn to do crappy brother's job for him. Could the suns work a deal to get one of these guys? Is either worth a damn on D/rebounding?

wtf did you sign Collins for? You make a big deal outta getting these guys and then you won't play them.

Bass - not a good defender, but a decent rebounder. Haven't seen enough of Gortat.

I have no idea who you're talking about so yeah, apparently 5 fouls in 5 minutes is more desirable.

Gortat would be a huge addition, as he rebounds and can play defense down low.

Amare just stands around the perimeter and chucks J's all day, so Gortat running around in the low post shouldn't interfere with his game either.

What the Suns really need is a guard. More specifically, they need Barbosa back healthy. Without him their guard rotation is awkwardly between Nash, Jason Richardson, and Goran Dragic. They play Nash and Dragic at the same time sometimes, which is a disaster.

We don't need an overpriced role player like Bass or Gortat. Lou Amundson can capably come in off the bench and give us some good defense, boards, and blocked shots. We just need to start playing him and not Robin Lopez.

So Gortat? Didn't Orlando give him a decent contract, what could the suns give up? Most of the starters are off the table and their bench is worth crap.

So, I see you are at it again. I see things seem to be getting to you now more than ever. You, the one so quick to point out other's faults, are now scared because your demons have become visible. Ironic, how one that can seem so secure on the surface can be shaken so easily. It is not easy being taken to task because of one's short comings now is it? You are tormented by your own insecurities and now that people are wise to your game, you are lost. Lost, lost like many of those sad "little lovers" you have tortured with your sick and twisted sense of love.

Now the only thing you fear more than the sound of keyboard strokes is the sound of those little velcro shoes leaving that shallow and dark one-bedroom apartment of yours.

I refuse to help you because you are weak. In a sense, you made me. The "lessons" you taught me dramatically shifted my path. But I can no longer express gratitude nor be a shoulder for you to cry on when you have become everything I loathe. You taught me this. All of the whispers of "don't be scared" have now come to roost. So I leave you now with this feeling of despair. You must suffer as I have suffered, tee, hee Cully, tee, hee.

Yes, especially Gortat (Bass lacks height and isn't nearly as good defensively) who would be a very good fit.

No, I don't think the Suns have the assets to get him.

12-13-2009, 02:36 PM
Assuming you're ditching Frye and Lopez, yes. Either would certainly be an upgrade over your current situation at the 5. Bass certainly can't hurt your chances against the Spurs at least, that is for sure.

I'm warry of any big who can't make the cut on the Mavs. I probably should have left him out of the thread.

The Mavs didn't resign Bass cause they thought they were using the MLE on Gortat, then Otis Smith matched their offer.

True, but the Mavs knew this was an Ericka Dampier contract year, so he'd actually show up for a season.

I think Orlando is hoarding bigs to pull a trade for whatever piece they think they need near the trading deadline.

Muser

No, they most likely matched for Gortat because they don't want him on another contender, if he had starters minutes and played consistently he could of been huge for Dallas. I have no idea why they signed Bass however.

Gortat would kick serious ass on the Suns...he's the perfect center in the Suns offense.

1) He can run very well for a Center
2) He can shoot
3) He can dunk
4) He can defend

Gortat would be an easy 15 points, 10 rebounds and defense every night for the Suns if not more.

I don't see how either would help. They themselves would play better and get better stats, but that would only take away from other players' minutes that may be just as productive, if not more so. It takes a while for players to get up to physical shape to play in a run-and-gun system, and since there is absolutely no commitment to play defense, any defensive advantage Gortat or Bass may give you would never be utilized.

Bummer as someone mentioned earlier that the suns don't have the assets to go after him (I think). I don't think Orlando would consider Pho enough of a threat to not give them Gortat would you? It would be nice though, then pho could at least be competitive against the elite for a season or two.

Come on Orlando, you just got blown out by Miami do a panic trade and send Gortat to Pho... He's skinny enough that amare can dunk around him as long as they don't raise the rim 3".
