i heard on a another site this girl had night terrors and suicidal actions from that drug
suicidal actions is the most hardcore side affect ever, nothing rivals it

Yeah I heard about this drug when Carter Albrecht got shot in the face. But I wasn't able to find a commercial for it until I saw it today.
My coworker's sister had a bout of night terrors when she was taking this drug.

I took it for a month with no side effects and quit smoking for 6 months. I had very little cravings. Certainly less than quitting cold turkey but I started smoking again because of the week from hell.
I should have stayed on it a little longer.

drugs to quit smoking cigarettes? sounds like a waste of money. just quit.

I took it for 7 of the 12 weeks of the program ... but quit taking it because the crazy ass, vivid dreams just left me too exhausted all of the time.
But, I took it long enough for me ... I haven't had a drag off of a cigarette in over 2 1/2 years and the smell of it still makes me want to vomit.
I smoked for almost 25 years ... and quit cold turkey about 200 times. So yeah, that way doesn't work for a lot of people ... some people just need a little help.
Since nothing bad happened to me from taking it I'll say yeah, it was worth the risk for me ... I was educated of them before I made the decision to try it.

My mom got off smoking with the help of this, but it didn't work for her ex husband or my brother.

if you WANT to quit, you can quit, drugs or no drugs. If the drug "didn't work", it's because the person didn't really WANT to quit

I took it for about a month and got some wicked headaches so I just went back to smoking. That shit would give me some sick ass dreams though. I love having crazy dreams because it's like being in a k-hole but in my sleep. And for free.

So you had the dreams too? That's so crazy. Up here in d-town they say Carter Albrect was going fuckin BONKERS that night he got shot in the face. Like he had some sort of nervous breakdown snap.

That's cool. When I heard about Chantix a while back I was wondering if there were people out there who would end up taking it recreationally to trip out on the crazy dreams.
I'm actually amazed how many people on spurstalk have taken this drug. I didn't realize it was that commonplace.
But what is odd to me is the commercial itself admits only a 44% success rate.....whereas you get an 18% success rate on taking just a placebo sugar pill......
Those potential side effects do not justify a 26% effect boost to me.

In rehab they have a smoking cessation class we were required to take and they recommended Chantix along with the patch. That would increase the success rate to around 70%.

Interesting. I remember back in the day Chode_Regulator said you had to be a pretty wealthy individual to afford the patch.
So you still smoke?

Yeah I smoke but not as much as I used to. About 10 years back I was at a pack a day but now I smoke 3-5 cigs a day.

I'd have fucked up dreams from the time I closed my eyes until the time I opened them. The most frequent one I'd have was me driving my truck off a cliff...without insurance....over and over again. I'd have the free-falling experience and everything. Fortunately, no resulting bed wetting. :lol
No compulsion for suicide or homicide, though. Just exhaustion. :fro
But, the dreams stopped as soon as I quit taking it ... and I've "been quit" for a really long time. I still want one everyday, though. :oops

That's pretty tame compared to the dreams I was having. Mine involved dead relatives coming back from the dead. They were pretty vivid and gruesome dreams.

Dammit. I knew hearing direct dream experiences would make me want to try this shit. And I hate smoking. Wonder what happens when you combine it with other drugs.
Gonzo were you still on the ganja when u took Chantix?
Dr. Gonzo

The dreams are pretty vivid. I woke up numerous times thinking I had actually been drinking with my dead grandmother.

Like if you chugged 8 oz of Tuthin, took Chantix, smoked a J and fell asleep
you could probably write an emmy award winning movie about your dream experience. Like when those fags in coldplay take ambien and write populario music.

Anyway, it didnt work because I didnt want to quit.

I invited CBF to the petroleum club but he said it was too low class for him. He wanted to go to the Reagan Rotary Reserve.

Despite some mild side-effects like occasional memory lapses and increased aggression (no worse than that brought on by too much coffee) Chantix worked for me. And I enjoyed the dreams, personally.
My gf was another thing entirely... she couldn't even get through the low-dosage starter kit meant to ramp you up to full-strength without more-or-less losing her mind, so I guess YMMV.

A friend of mine who smoked for years took it with some skepticisim. It actually worked for her. I was pretty suprised being that she was damn near a pack a day smoker.
But then she lost her job and it suddenly and mysteriously stopped working.
I believe its all psychological.
