I fail to see how saying be patient or allow the team to try and work itself out is a "fan-boy knee-jerk amongst the Spurs crowd".

I would instead say that issuing insistent demands to blow up the team, bench Parker for Hill, trade TP for a Calderon platter, bench RJ for Malik (haven't read this but I'm sure it's out there somewhere) are more inline with "knee-jerk" reactions.

I can't help but think the players are just too laid back, that there isn't a sense of urgency about the team, which in part could explain the lackluster defense. This goes all the way to the top. Pop is always saying the most important thing is HEALTH, and he doesn't go out of his way to win games, he would rather rest the big three. This lackadaisical approach to winning has infiltrated the teams psyche.
