I'm watching the game on my phone. Colts front 7 is getting blown off the line of scrimmage so far, but they're not playing Freeney hardly at all. He didn't start the game and has only come in on two third downs it looks like. Looks like the Colts are pulling punches a little on defense but not offense.

Manning has made receivers look better than they are (Stokley) but Collie is legit. He led the nation in rec. yards last year.

There should be no question in the Colts' mind where resting is concerned. If this teams rests down the stretch, they might as well walk away now.
This team isn't pulled together enough on either side of the ball to be able to take a break.

The Colts are going to downplay their push for perfection every time they're asked about it. That's just the kind of team they are. A lot of truly humble men on that team who work hard each week. No bullshit "Humble Pie - I eat it" T-shirts in this locker room. No ass kissing press conferences in the week before the game and no smug bastards getting in front of cameras and saying "I told you so" after wins. They just go out and get it done.
That said it's hard to tell if this team is really going to go balls out the next two games. I'm thinking they kept Freeney and Mathis on a really low pitch count for this game to keep them fresh for the next two. Still, great effort by the defense in the fourth quarter. Without Freeney and Mathis, they were getting blown off the ball. Bring them back in at the end and the Sparkle Kitties get shut out in the fourth quarter. Money.

I think they do the same thing the next 2 games. Play them sparingly and if it's close in the 4th quarter, put them in and let them shit all over whoever gets in their way.
