In a 78-57 win over Gardner-Webb that was closer than the final score for most of the game, James Madison's Denzel Bowles had 37 points and 15 rebounds. Bowles made 17 field goals which made him the sixth player in CAA/ECAC South history to make 17 or more in a game. David Robinson is the only CAA player to make more than 17 in a game. Exactly 17 in a game has now been done seven times, twice by Robinson and once by five other players. Before Bowles, the last CAA player with 17 field goals made in a game was Alex Loughton of Old Dominion on December 6, 2003.
