Play all four teams from last years conference finals in the second night of back to backs?
Talk about lack of respect from the schedule makers. The Suns first quarter schedule was absolutely brutal. Not only have they ALREADY played all four teams on the second night, but they were all AWAY games as well!!! :wow
On top of that, theyve had to do it on the road against the Lakers TWICE!!!
I seriously doubt any team will have a stretch nearly as tough.

They probably figured pho would suck beyond hope this year and it wouldn't matter. Help out some other teams.

Every team has 41 home games and 41 road games last I checked. Calling the Suns' schedule "Brutal" is laughable, they've had tons of road games, and plenty of them were against bad teams.

Means an easier stretch at some point. The team is still high in the Western Conference, so they will stay up there as the season gets easier :toast

True. Every team has the same number of road games and home games.
But are you claiming that days off dont factor in? If the Suns were coming off five days rest when they went in to LA (as the Lakers had against Phx in their first meeting) instead of a back-to-back (same game...just crazy), they wouldnt have a better chance at winning?

I personally would much rather have B2B's against teams they're gonna lose to anyway rather than have B2B's against beatable teams. I highly doubt the outcome of either LA game would be a whole lot different if they had rest.

True, the Suns probably cant get a win in LA no matter what the schedule is. But Denver, Orlando and Cleveland would definitely be easier when the team isnt flying in during the middle of the night before the game.
The fact that Suns have had to do this in the first quarter of the season (including LA twice) is almost comical. If you PURPOSELY wanted to make things hard for the Suns, under what other scenario could possibly make things tougher?
The only thing I could think of is to maybe have all these game later rather than earlier. I guess that would be debatable, though.
Also, I'll take back-to-backs against the weaker teams over the better teams any day of the week.

Cleveland has to play @ Phoenix on the second night of a b-2-b. So you're even on that one.

That just another difference of opinions. In my book, I'd want the hard stretch of schedule done early so they can be well rested leading up to the playoffs playing bad teams. Their brutal post AS break schedule in 2007 played a large role in them losing IMO.

I think the Atlanta Hawks have something to say to you in end of December and in January.
Their upcoming back to backs in sets are
vs Utah, @Chicago (December 18 and December 19)
@Minnesota, @Denver (WCF) (December 22 and December 23)
vs Cleveland, @Cleveland (double ECF) (December 29 and December 30)
vs Boston, @Orlando (2008 NBA champions and 2009 NBA finalist) (January 8 and January 9)
vs Boston, @Orlando (2008 NBA champions and 2009 NBA finalist) (January 29 and January 30)
That is what I call brutal.

I would agree its probably better it happened soon rather than later.
But the point of this thread is that no other team will have to do it at ANY POINT, sooner or later besides the Suns.

That is tough! Almost as tough as the Suns. If Orlando is the EC equivalent of LA, then they have the same hardship as Phoenix minus one. They would have to add a game against the Lakers on the second night to match the Suns.

You maybe right, but do you really think it makes that big a difference? They had a similar brutal stretch when they were fighting for a playoff spot last year and it resulted in a 6 game losing streak that ended any chance at the playoffs. I'm actually curious to see if the results are better with a softer post AS break schedule.

They faced Denver at home in November 7 after being in Charlotte on November 6.
November 13 against @Boston and then November 14 at home against New Orleans.
November 20 against Houston then November 21 @New Orleans.
November 26 vs Orlando and then November 27 @Philly.
December 4 against New York and December 5 @Dallas.

Something funny I found when I was looking at their schedule. It is of course irrelevant right now
From http://www.nba.com/spurs/schedule/
Sunday, March 21 - @ Atlanta
Monday, March 22 - @ Oklahoma
Wednesday, March 24 - vs Lakers
Friday, March 26 - vs Cavs
Sunday, March 28 - @ Boston
Monday, March 29 - @ New Jersey (who knows what this team or our team will be then)
Wednesday, March 31 - vs Houston
Friday, April 02 - vs Magic
Sunday, April 04 - @ Lakers
I loled when I saw this schedule
I don't know if this competes

Suns have the same number of back to backs as most the teams in the NBA this year. The avg is 20. Everyone keeps pointing out how the Lakers have such a favorable schedule the first qtr and the now Sunsfan is whining about having it so tough as well. So I expect Suns fan to be posting a similar thread in the 4th qtr of the season when injuries are more prevelant, teams are gearing up for the playoffs, and away games are all the more tougher explaing how they have it sweet and the Lakers have it rough. As if that will ever happen.
Same ole same ole Sunsfan crying and complaining about being persecuted by the refs and NBA. Pathetic! Championship teams play through adversities, even delusional ones. Losers whine and complain. Keep those binoculars on the prize pussies!!!!

I'd rather have a tough schedule to start the season than to end it. April comes Phx will be getting their legs and resting. Everything evens out, the schedules dont fuck anybody.

Yeah but they need to have fresh legs to win the ratings title!
LOL
You obviously have not heard of the rockets....they have the TOUGHEST schedule and they are playing 4 back to backs

Road games are what builds a team.
Having all those early road games are a huge boost for team chemistry. Not unlike the yearly Spurs Rodeo trip.
