We need to buy a few things for our folks at home and need your help to find it:
- Laser range finder (hunting/sport/gun shop?)
- Different sports articles (large sports shop?)
- Computer stuff (CompUSA?)

I could probably google for them but I'd like some recomendation from the locals :)

Sport stuff--Academy or Oshman's. You might be able to find the laser thing at Academy also?

Computer stuff--CompUSA or if you're looking for parts Altex. But I'm sure others would have better recommendations

In about a year, you could shop at the new Bass Pro Shop they're building. But that's more to do with fishing than hunting.

The store I took you too last time for the Spurs gear (Academy) will have the top 2. Amenity Computer Services, Altex, CompUSA or the places RL64TX mentioned will also have any computer related items you need.

What kind of computer stuff, Slomo? I've had good luck with both repairs and purchases at Izzy's PC Depot over on Babcock and Callahan. They're what's known as a "white box" dealer. They will put together a system for you, or sell you the parts to do it yourself.

If you buy a lot of stuff at Altex they'll work with you on the price.

If you need generic big box (like you'd find at Best Buy) computer parts, they are a little pricey. But if you're looking for connectors, cables, wiring, etc., they can't be beat.

I wouldn't buy a computer from CompUSA. I bought one years ago and it turned out to be a piece of crap. :pctoss I bought my laptop at Circuit City over two years ago, it is a Sharp, haven't had a single problem with it, ever. C. City will match prices, as well as Best Buy.

Actually, BPS has a nice selection of hunting gear also.

As does the Cabela's that will be opening soon up in Buda.

Altex- weird computer parts, connectors, and network gear

Compusa - overall computer stuff, cheapy systems(have had bad luck with their computers)

BestBuy - not as many parts as Compusa, cheapy systems.

Circut City -cheapy systems, few parts

Academy - tons of sports

Oshmans - tons of sports

Walmart - a fair sports section

Thanks for the answers. I think we'll have no problem finding what we need in the shops you listed here.
