ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have reached a tentative agreement with left-handed reliever Darren Oliver on a one-year deal for 2010 plus a vesting option for 2011, according to industry sources. The team has not confirmed the signing.

The deal is pending a physical, which is scheduled for Tuesday. Oliver will receive $3.5 million in 2010.

Oliver was 5-1 with a 2.71 ERA in 63 games for the Angels in 2009 and is 15-3 with a 3.10 ERA in 178 games over the past three years.

He joins C.J. Wilson in giving the Rangers two veteran left-handed relievers in the bullpen. The Rangers are considering moving Wilson into the rotation.

Haven't we been tricked into signing this ass clown twice before already? The guy is pretty good everywhere else, then he comes to Texas and plays like crap. I can't wait for that 5.92 ERA he'll give us next season.

I hate spending $ on relief pitchers, especially ones that are pushing 40 yrs old. We dont need bullpen help we need a freakin RH DH in the lineup
