This fuck up in particular is special because it is a fuck up from multiple angles, the obvious angle being the fact OKC drafted Ibaka with a pick given to them by Phoenix just so OKC would take a contract (that was expiring), but also the fact OKC turned the 24th pick into a big who can contribute as is but has tons of upside, while in the same draft, all Kerr could do with the 15th pick was turn it into a player who's ceiling is Anderson Varejao but will most likely not have an NBA career beyond his rookie contract.

That move actually makes sense though from a certain perspective, it made Sarver richer and saved him money. It was a horrible basketball decision, but if I had to write an article about why he did it, I'd be able to write that article and give a logical explanation. If a final in a class I was taking required me to give a logical explanation as to why Steve Kerr picked Robin Lopez 15th overall, I'd fail the final. That simply made no sense, from any perspective.

Sarver doesn't care about the fans, or anything basketball related, and never has. Him sitting court side with that fuckin foam finger is just an image thing to try to show people he cares about the team. Yup, Robin Lopez has me scratching my head. How did they pick a guy that is so uncoordinated and SLOW...

Against the spurs, I saw him do a pump fake and his guy went up in the air for what seemed 2 seconds. It took Lopez a second to realize his guy jumped and to go around him for the dunk. Fuckin Amare would have dunked the damn ball before Lopez knew what the hell was going on in that situation.

I think Kerr was a desparate moron. Everyone knew Pho went for years without a decent defensive big so last draft he probably figured he had to get a big no matter what.

What's frustrating is Lopez sucks so badly, there's no way to trade him. He's low salary so they don't gain anything dumping him for free either. Notice he doesn't even get to play some games, proper thing to do, but not what you want to see from a first round pick.

At least dragic is showing some potential. Lopez... Nash is better at D than him, that's how bad he is.

Since Lopez is white (or at least light skinned) and went to Stanford, he could use Lopez to lead his PR campaign about how the team would now be able to use blue collar defensive specialists since Antoni was too stubborn to ever use them......and the truth is that's just the opposite of what Lopez is. He's an athletic 7 footer who gets by on nothing other than raw talent. He's extremely lazy and he's anything but a defensive specialist or hard worker. But Kerr is right D'antoni would have never used Lopez, reason being Lopez sucks.
