I am not sure if anyone else had noticed this, but the Spurs keep switching when defending the pick and roll. There have been quite a few bigs to exploit this against the Spurs.
What pisses me off is that the bigs are getting easy 10ft jumpers because of the switch. These are a few names recently...
Aldrige
Kaman
Boozer
Garnett
Murphy
Howard
Nowitzki
Ilyasova
Hawes
Bosh
Green
to name a few.
All of these players got a majority of their points off of this one fucking play. I think the Spurs really should do something about this. Here are some ideas...
1. Fight through the fucking screen instead of attempting to draw a foul.
2. Stop messing with small ball.
3. Play your shot blockers to intimidate guard penetration after the switch.
Thoughts???

Here's the thing; We WANT them to take those shots. All day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We could try putting Ratliff on some of those shooters, but we generally want them taking those shots for obvious reasons.

Agreed, but apparently Popovich has reached a point in his career that he knows all and does no wrong. About time for Pop and Manu to take a little fishing trip for some reflection. Both are having their worst seasons ever.

The shots that I think they would want even more is a 17ft shot. When the Spurs switch it is already bad news.
When the Spurs go over the screen, it forces Timmy to sag because there isn't another shot blocker. When this happens, the opposing big just takes up the space Tim just had to give up to attempt to deny penetration. Bingo... 10ft jumper.
When the Spurs switch, it puts Timmy on a guard (not good) and without any shot blockers, there really isn't anything stopping the guard from giving the ball to his big for an easy 2 or a foul. I can live with shooting a jumper over Timmy, but can't live with a big having a field day inside.

That is the problem, bigs now hit those shots, every team has players that hit those shots, and we still defend like it's Ben Wallace out there.

I dunno, I've never seen Timmy switch without good reason. Especially when Tony is at point. I also don't consider this a reason for concern as much as offensive rebounding.(offensive rebounds aren't as important as defense though)
The defense was pretty over-reactive tonight too. Steve Blake put the Spurs on their heels and it was kind of embarrassing. He's no Chris Paul or Brandon Roy and the Spurs should have recognized this and called his bluffs.
