I know, most people will probably say no and I'm not really sold on it either, but what do you think? I'm bored.

Okay. Well it's RJ and Manu for Tayshaun Prince and Rip Hamilton.

Really? Like I said, I'm not completely sold on it either, but think about it for a minute. Prince is a good defensive player at SF, something we're severely lacking and he's available as well as Rip. He's lanky and he can score some. He wouldn't need the ball like RJ to be effective. Same thing with Rip. He is the best player in the NBA and moving without the ball, so all Tony has to do is find him open.

Prince doesn't need the ball or a passing PG to make am impact.

Tony finding RIP when Tony doesn't look to pass is not going to work. RIP needs a passing PG like Nash, Paul or Kidd. Prince would fit as well as Bowen because they don't need touches nor someone looking for them all the time. For Tony Prince would be a better fit.

Not a bad idea in theory, but in my opinion, Prince is done. He is not a quality defender any more and he has been injured. RJ can still provide many great things. The Spurs don't need RJ to score 20 PPG, they need him to rebound, defend and provide the Spurs with another option that can carry the team offensively when people are struggling on any given night.
Rip is still solid, but I have serious questions about how he would fit with the Spurs. But if you were going to trade Manu, you could do a lot worse than Rip but the contracts of Prince/Rip aren't beneficial either.

Hamilton would be as bad of a fit in San Antonio as Rice was in LA. They're the same player, and both need an offense run around them to be successful. There's no way Hamilton would get the myriad of screens he needs to produce when the Spurs already have much better options in isolating Parker high, Duncan iso on the left block, or the pick and roll between Parker and Duncan. Good player, bad fit.

:tu and :rollin + :lol
Every GM signing off on this deal besides RC should or would be shot.
But concerning the subjest matter I've always liked Prince and had wished to have gotten him when he became available but it wasn't going to happen from Detroit's POV. He was too valuable in their scheme of things to let go at that time.
And concernig Rip - though I like him as a player he needs a Billups/Nash PG to be effective. Why run your ass off only to see your PG drive time after time for the layup? Just don't see all that much upside to this trade.

If the Spurs were to trade Ginobili I'd like it to be for Biedrinis and Randolph from the Warriors.
the thing we need most is a true playmaking pg.

Prince is an overrated defender. The only reason he was legit on D was cause he had Ben and Rasheed Wallace in their prime defending the paint. He's dropped off ever since. Also, I don't see RIP playing well alongside a scoring PG in TP.
