Kobe is a fucking fraud :rollin

Exactly. Perpetrated by the NBA.

Someday another ref or League exec will come out and spill the beans on how the NBA has orchestrated Bryant's resurrection from being a sexual predator into the League darling. The whole thing is sickening.

When there are great people like Ray Allen and Dwight Howard and Tim Duncan out there, the League chooses to shove Bryant down our throats. Unbelievable.

Do yourself a favor, Mr. Stern -- read the police report from Colorado sometime.

How exactly have the Lakers been exposed? Its an 82 game season for chrissake and youre gonna have hiccups here and there. I will say they look beatable, and have poor depth... but still a damn strong "Big 5" and top 2 team in the NBA.

It hasn't been that bad in general, but there have been some crucial calls against Sacto..

Kobe missed a 3..Gasol blatantly pushed Thompson out of the way, Lakers got back the rebound, they missed, and Gasol got the tip to tie the game and send it into OT..

typical..

seriously? wow come on,, there was almost a crap call with the bynum foul but good work on the replay got it right

Mediocrity?

Richest franchise in the NBA.
Best lifetime winning percentage in the NBA.
Defending champs.
Most championships this decade.
In half the finals played since the beginning of the NBA.
15 titles.
... and too many accomplishments to list on a post.

But you hang on to those 3 years it took them to rebuild from dynasty to dynasty. :toast

You are now entering the Spurs phase where mediocrity is the GOAL! Let's see how long that lasts.

I like the word rebuild. It would have been great if you had to rebuild and work for it rather than the "gift" trade. You really worked hard on that rebuild farming and developing an all star level big man like Gasol. Rebuild with Artest taking a huge discount to hop on the bandwagon.

Always good to get a win... but its also naive to think that way. Really, close games, or OT games can go either way in regulation, and you need luck to win those games... in the long run, winning that one point game or OT game, or losing it, really doesnt make a difference in terms of how good your team is (other than maybe getting you one spot higher in the standings) winning a game by double digits in regulation is alot different to winning an OT game or winning by less than a couple points in regulation... in terms of how good your team really is. Thats why i never really get the 'a win is a win' mentality (that all fans use)

Not talking about the Lakers... just in general. If the Spurs beat the Pacers by one point... because of a game winner by Tim Duncan... a Spursfan might be happy with the win just because of the emotion of the game.. but really it doesnt mean the Spurs are any better than if they lost that game by a point.

You know what i mean?

you also need to factor in days where things arent going the way they normally go (off days i guess), the opposing team being pumped for what for them is a big game, taking lowly teams for granted, etc....I think as long as it doesnt become a common occurence that 'a win is a win' saying has some truth to it. that pacers win for example, it was ugly but we needed it i definitely applied the 'a win is a win' saying in that case.

Agree. There are exceptions... teams go through lulls, and cant bring it 82 times a year... but you have to be cautious how you win games. A W-L record can often be fools gold, like the Spurs last season...

At the expense of sounding like Hollinger, margin of victory + SOS is a more important indicator of how good a team is rather than W-L. Obviously, they go hand in hand to an extent...
