I've just thought about this...the 8 playoff slots in the west are pretty much locked, only the ranking will change:
Lakers Nuggets Mavs San Antonio Phoenix Houston Portland Utah.
Maybe OKC slips in(Portland would be a likely candidate to drop out,but they continue to amaze) but currently theres no way i see the Hornets getting past any of these teams record wise, heck they cant even get above .500 right now.
So what's CP3 gonna do, demand a trade?

After his 12-point ugly performance in the elimination game in last year's playoffs, he's probably just fine missing the playoffs this season.

OKC will take Utah's spot. OKC is only game back and they have had a much harder schedule.

would be a shame if he left. There are so few one team-franchise players out there. Duncan, Kobe, umm .. yea. Somehow I consider Lebron, wade, melo, cp3, all part of a newer generation.

A lot of contending teams in the West have killer schedules to end the regular season so maybe teams like OKC and Sactown can sneak in. But it will depend on those teams' schedules too
That being said, I still don't see NOH making the 2010 PO.

It would be an enjoyable experience for me to see 121-63 get destroyed in the playoffs once again...
