View Full Version : Cavaliers-Hawks

First night of a back-to-back with the lid-lifter in Atlanta tonight and the re-match in Cleveland tomorrow night. Hawks are 21-8, their best start since the 1993-94 season, and are second in the NBA to Boston in point differential at +8.0. Cavaliers have won four straight and nine of ten and are a healthy 12-6 on the road.

Big statement game for both teams- particularly Atlanta, which trails Orlando by a half-game in the Southeast and went 1-7 against the Cavaliers last year in the regular season and playoffs. Including last year's second round series, the Hawks have lost six straight in Cleveland dating back to 2006. So this is the one they've got to get.

They'll split this. The Hawks have a huge athleticism advantage up front and the Cavs have a huge size advantage up front.

good game. Think cavs will pull this out. I am still hesitating to get on ATL's bandwagon. If they keep up the impressive wins though, consider me a sell out.

Crawford has been a thorn in the side of the Cavaliers for a long time. I checked his splits on BR and was surprised to see he was averaging only 15.7 PPG against Cleveland for his career. Seems like it should be a lot higher than that. He had some huge games against the Cavaliers when he was in New York.

Hopefully Delonte won't be having one of his "bad days." He'll need to do a job on Crawford.

Both teams are playing well. This is a good match up and it is crazy to see how now with Shaq in there, how the match up between the two teams has changed.

Cavs have weathered the first quarter storm and have control of the game. Looking like the Lakers game, only closer.

There is 3:20 left in the 4th and the Hawks still haven't scored a single point.

Delonte West had an awesome fast break dunk on Josh Smith (trying to block it).

Game over. Epic choke for the Hawks in the 4th. James played great defence on JJ.

LeBron couldn't hit water out of the side of a boat tonight but did a lot of other things well.

I love Delonte West more than any man should love a bi-polar, heavily tattooed combo-guard.

And Jamal Crawford makes me very nervous.

son I don't give a shit about either of those teams, but what we all just saw was a yet another embarrassing moment for the NBA. they are completely disrespecting the game of basketball by doing shit like this.

Rigged or not (I can't tell, I didn't see the game) Lebron had 48 pts on 15 from 23 shooting, that's how you kick ass without ball hoging.

JoeTait75

The shot clock snafu was a travesty, you never want to see that happen.

But the officials weren't calling anything either way in the fourth quarter. Atlanta had the same chances Cleveland had to take advantage and they didn't do it.

What happened with the shot clock?

It never reset after Cleveland's possession with 1:50 left and Atlanta leading 99-98. It was at :19 when the Hawks got the ball. They ended up turning it over with the clock at :01. Whether the turnover was forced by the clock or the Hawks were even aware of it at the time I have no idea.

ATLANTA - Both teams had to suffer through the inconvenience.
That was the standard Celtics (http://news.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/celtics/index.bg) [team stats (http://scores.heraldinteractive.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=bostonherald&page=nba/teams/092/team.aspx?id=092)] response to the dilemma of playing without a shot clock from the start of the second half until 6:48 remained in the game.
