TMac needs more press updates; boost nostalgia and popularity!

I don't get why team aren't offering young studs for our 2010 expiring All-Star.....:depressed

Dammit, Nash is catching up. I want to see McGrady have to come out in an NBA jersey like Craig Hodges did when he didn't have a team either.

How sickening is it that Iverson, Carter, and Arenas are all ahead of Joe Johnson in the fan voting? Johnson should be the obvious starter next to Wade.

Didn't you know? All Star starters are flashy players past and present...not blue collar workers.

I am of the opinion that Dirk and Carmelo deserve to start the ASG over Tim this year. Both guys are having career years while Duncan is putting up his usual 20-10 season, but his team is underachieving at the moment.

It will by a DAMN TRAVESTY for the NBA if Tracy McGrady AND Allen Iverson start the ASG. Everyone knows about TMac, but AI??? Guy has played 10 games this season and is only averaging around 15pts and he's a STARTER in the ASG???

Nash was pretty far behind TMac for awhile, overtook him for a week or two, and then got passed again. Now that he's a big name in the media again, I expect he'll build a lead over Nash.

This is China screwing up the voting process yet again. They are the reason I now am AGAINST allowing the fans to vote for the ASG starters. Too many uneducated dumbasses that vote for who names they recognize from 4 years ago, guys they see on billboards and commercials, or the teammates of those guys, despite how they have played (or the fact that they haven't played at all).

Time to let the coaches and/or players vote for the starters instead. Hell, even the biased media could pick a better team....

The fact that Aaron Brooks is ahead of guys like Billups, Williams, and Roy is flat-out SICKENING, as well.

And then you have Ariza and Scola as #6 and #7 in forwards voting. Screw China...

Was Yi Jianlin not on the ballot this year? Surprised he isn't in the running to start in the East...

And when is China gonna get on the Nets bandwagon and vote in Yi's teammates like Brook Lopez and Devin Harris? Or has Yi not done enough endorsements and commericals yet?

Hell, if I were middle of the road NBA starter, I'd go to Houston or New Jersy during free agency. As long as I start for those teams, I'd be a STONE COLD LOCK to make the All Star game as long as Yao or Yi were still on the roster... And I'd rake in the endorsement money by pimping every Chinese company that waves a contract in front of me.

It's not fans in China voting him in. It's people like me who think it would be hilarious to see TMAC at the All Star Game. HILARIOUS. lol

All-star voting should only be allowed at the arena. Online voting just favors the hell out of large markets and teams with Chinese players.

Really???? T-Mac AND Iverson??? It's ok when coaches make a doubtful decision, at the end they are just naming someone as the 12th player of the roster, but when a starter is named that shouldn't be in the team at all, that is pretty screwed up!

does anyone have any real ideas how to fix this? assign weights to countries? limit the pool of candidates to players who actually perform?

Who cares?..

the all-star game is for fans, they vote in whoever they want to see..if people want to see McGrady, he deserves to be in it..they get to pick whoever they want..

It disproportionally represents teams with enormous fan-bases, like the Rockets and Lakers. You limit it to the arenas and you're not as likely to have ballot-stuffing for scrubs.

So true.

I hate how every year people vote like idiots. There are some players out there who deserve some hard earned love and won't get it.

I don't want to see AI in the ASG. End of story.

The NBA is not going to ignore the fanbase outside of USA. If this happens, there are many people like me who will not be able to vote.

This always happens.. not sure why this is a big deal. And it isn't Big fan teams that this happens to.. Doesn't anyone remember Grant Hill and his one leg getting voted as a starter for atleast 2 years when he first went to Orlando and didn't play any.

It's for the fans... Fans see who they want to see.. When people learn to understand that and not think that you have to have allstar numbers to be an allstar starter then they will stop their bitching. Otherwise.. guess what.. more people then not want to see Tmac and AI play.. so you're in the minority.

Who gives a shit.. can't believe people actually watch the allstar game anyways.. it's crap.

This may be the year the NBA hands the voting to the coaches, players, and NBA-beat journalists.

Of course, the NBA may have decided the farce of All Star beauty/popularity contest is better to keep the fans' dollars flowing into the NBA pockets.
