In a recent interview J.R. Smith was unapologetic about his trigger finger and questionable shot selection.
"Whenever I shoot the ball, I think I can make it — that's why I never think I shoot any bad shots." Sometimes Smith hits the jackpot as evidenced by his 10 3-point game on Dec. 23rd. Other times he burns you like the 29.5% he's been shooting over the past three games. What is more important to consider is the prospect of coach George Karl giving him a shorter leash.

I find this hilarious, I mean he has an almost wilt-like level of humility

Good player, very versatile offensively, solid defender and enjoyable to watch. He needs to give the next step (to All-Star status) to make the Nuggets bona-fide contenders.

Ok, but in my view it's the part of the game where he improved more in the last season, probably due to Billup's influence and guidance. I think Billups had a huge positive impact on Smith, btw, on and off the court.

I'd say he's definitely improved and is now an acceptable defender..I don't know if I'd call him solid though, but that's your opinion..

btw, how ironic that Laker fans call somebody out for an off-court incident..

Okay that I can agree with. Yeah billups did have a huge impact on the team in terms of tightening it for a championshipp run. Even melo was dedicated on defense

I hate this attitude. Players that think it's ok having a poor shot selection just because they are capable of making those shots. Go for the high percentage and high efficieny plays. Leave the poor shots to the end of a shot clock. A big reason I really disliked Stackhouse.

Harris and Diop did all the hustling that year. I'm assuming you are talking 06-07 Stackhouse. That was an usually high shooting year for Stackhouse from 3. Normally he is 40% FG and 29% 3 point range and doesn't put up much stats in rebounds, steals, or assists. We do need more playmakers but not one with such poor efficiency.
