I have both, but for gaming, XBOX 360 is the way to go. Besides, the online community of Xbox live is superior compared to the PS3 community.

PS3 has also recently had major problems with disc loading and their blu ray live feature.

There were no 360 exclusives even nominated for GotY this year (Edit: Crap, forgot about Forza 3, but still). Just as an FYI.

I'd say the console race is dead even now. Playstation made huge strides this year to catch the 360. It just depends on what features you want in your system now.

been there, done that. Back in CS's heyday it seemed very viable if you were skilled. At the biggest tournaments the top prizes are outrageous - back then ('then' = 03 for me), the winning CS team split 200 grand. $40,000 for 2 days of playing games..

I like both consoles, but I prefer the 360 for online even though it costs money for live. Packaging in a headset saved a lot of hassle in having to buy a usb headset to use to communicate in team based games. And I don't know what it is but achievements on the 360 feel way more important than the achievements on the ps3.

I love my PS3. BluRay, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, its use as a media server, the Dualshock 3 controller, etc. are all good reasons to own one.

That being said, I also love the 360 and will soon be selling my Wii (+ accessories and games) so that I can buy one.

I loved my Wii when I first got it. It was a good console to have as a student because there weren't any games that I loved so much that they'd take me away from homework for more than an hour or so at a time. Also big fun when I had a bunch of drunk people over.

However, I bought my aunt's PS3 and games last March an in that time have only turned on the Wii maybe four times. Maybe. Motion control or not, there's just no way a console that is essentially last gen is going to be competitive for my time when there's a PS3 sitting right next to it.
