Apparently he's been waived by Raptors...Spurs fans liked this guy a lot, will the Spurs try and find a way to pick him up?

Don't need him now. He's descent, but, like Haislip, he puts up most of his numbers during scrap time.

He's probably a slightly better version of Marcus Haislip. Pass.

Actually, since Haislip can actually fucking shoot, PMB's probably a slightly worse version of him. Also, as pointed out, we don't have a roster spot. Also, PMB sucks.

Yeah...Haislip is probably more valuable to us because of that reason. I would say that Pops has better NBA instincts right now...but that isn't saying all that much.

Pops can rebound and score in garbage time in the NBA, but that's about it. With any luck he'll be the PF the Toros desperately need this season, but I'm sure some other team will give him a try. Portland still needs big men, right?

Agreed CD...Portland will probably sign him in the next few days. They are in desperate need of front line players.

Well, we already have this guy named DeJuan Blair. He does all the things PMB does, only better. And he actually attempts to play defense, too.

Mensah-Bonsu is the poor man's Blair. He's an excellent athlete with a non-stop motor and he plays with tremendous energy, but outside of that he's a mistake prone player that doesn't do the little things, such as boxing out. Instead he tries to simply out-jump players for rebounds. The Spurs not only don't need him, but they definitely shouldn't cut Haislip or Mahinmi in favor of a lesser skilled, undersized big.

There are a lot of marginal players that get waived by teams and bounce around. Some rare few, like Bowen, finally find a niche that they can fill. I doubt the Spurs would give him another shot after one look.

That's a lot tougher gig in these economic times, with most teams only wanting to keep the minimum 13 players instead of the 1 or 2 extra that they could.
When push comes to shove, this guy just seems to get cut every time. He's a marginal NBA to non NBA player, right on the bubble. If he weren't so friggin' athletic, he'd never even get a sniff of an NBA roster, because he really doesn't have good basketball instincts. He just jumps high.
