I came in to post this last night, but you had already beat me to the punch...

Que golazo! I expect it to be in the running for the Top 5 goals in September in the GolTV countdown...

Clearly the pecking order for Mexican Football right now:

Javier Hernández
Giovanni Dos Santos
Andres Guardado

and then everyone else...

Chepo is going to find it increasingly difficult to leave the younger talented players off of the 2014 WC roster (obviously, as they mature between now and then... guys like Marco Fabian and Ullyses Dávila, among others... even players like Fierro if he progresses quickly) This is especially true because fringe players like Jonathan Dos Santos and Carlos Vela will likely deserve a slot by then... Hopefully, Sinha is no longer taking up a slot at that point (as much as I've liked him in the past) due to this impending dilemma (too many good players, too few slots). Also, I believe the Neri Castillo train is long gone (even though it seems he's doing well in Greece)...

Manchester United's Chicharito set to resume training on Wednesday after agent plays down injury fears
By Adam Hedley

Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez is set to make a sensational return to training on Wednesday, after initial fears following the injury his picked up in Sunday's victory over Chelsea.

The Mexican was substituted in clear discomfort after a late challenge from Ashley Cole, a tackle which Sir Alex Ferguson branded 'shocking' after the match.

The England left back received a yellow card for his troubles, but referee Phil Dowd decided not to award the hosts a penalty as the ball had left play when the challenge was made.

Immediately after the game Sir Alex had told Sky Sports that, "He could be out for a couple of weeks", but speaking to in Mexico, his agent has revealed the injury is not a bad as first feared.

"Nothing, it's just a bump, nothing more," Eduardo Hernandez told Telivisa. "I expect him to be training without incident on Wednesday."

"It looked like [his absence] was longer, they were looking for a fracture, that's why they ran those tests on him."

So many things pissed me off about this game, I don't even know where to start..

Guardado's penalty miss.. Chicharito's bad decision making.. Perez btw was the main reason Brazil came back, fouling Neymar in Ronaldinho territory, called that goal before it happened -_-..

He also let Marcelo through quite easily... This game should have been easily 3-0 or 3-1 Mexico...

On a good note, they played better than Brazil throughout, as a team at least.. Brazil just has amazing play makers that step up when needed.. and god Ronaldinho still has it, every single free kick was on target..

We lost to 10 men.. smh...

So many missed chances, stupid mistakes in the back... I'm already a cherokee Perez hater.

I have to give props to Oswaldo Sanchez, I expected a horrible game, but it was probably one of his best :lol with the exception of the last 2 goals, which really.. were nearly unstoppable.

Losing Salvador Cabañas two seasons ago, followed by their only salvageable/marketable player (Guillermo Ochoa) was simply too much for the team to overcome...

It's a shame América's youth program has sucked for the better part of two decades... The last "good" class that the program produced introduced the likes of:

Cuauhtémoc Blanco
Germán Villa
Joaquín Del Olmo
Raúl Rodrigo Lara

(even though they didn't win anything in the 90's)

But since then... their youth program has sucked... I guess they were banking on "stealing" Necaxa's better players (Luis Hernandez, Alberto Garcia Aspe, etc...) before the fan-base complained and ultimately the team moved to Aguascalientes...

But when is Mexico's next game? I hope Chepo doesn't pull an Aguirre... and never play these 2.

As far as i know we are done this year, no more games. So by the time Mexico plays their next game sometime next year their ban would be cleared by then. Chepo better start playing them by the time 2014 rolls around Jona will be 24 and Marco Fabian will be 25 so he can't use the excuse that they're too young anymore.

Johan Cruyff Jets to Mexico to Rescue 'Chivas', Dutch Master Joins CD Guadalajara as Advisor

http://i.imgur.com/O4pZT.jpg

Johan Cruyff, whose soccer philosophy turned FC Barcelona into the dream team that it is today, has been called upon to try and use some more of his magic. The Associated Press reports Cruyff is taking on an advisory role with Mexico's historic club, C.D. Guadalajara.
Chivas is playing poorly in the Clausura tournament -- having not won a game for over four months. The club has a rich history, having won 11 first division titles, seven Campeon de Campeones, one Interliga and two Copa Mexico titles. Fans' expectations are always high.
Chivas has taken only two points of a possible 21, in the current campaign. With only 10 games remaining, it has turned to Holland's wizard, who shined during the 1974 FIFA World Cup as a player and transformed the modern game.
Cruyff recently resigned from Ajax's board after fellow board members tried to hire Louis van Gaal as club CEO behind his back.
Cruyff will head across the Atlantic to try and guide Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez's old club back up the standings. Chivas currently sits at the bottom of the Clausura.
New manager Ignacio Ambriz knows that scoring two goals in seven games is unacceptable considering the fans' standards, but thinks that his team can get better.
"Our finishing has not been good," Ambriz said. "We have created some chances, but we have not followed through in attack. We can't do anything but keep working."
Ambriz took over as manager after former coach Fernando Quirarte was fired only a few weeks ago. Chivas has not won a game in four months, and Cruyff is the man Chivas called on to change that.

Now that Carlos Vela is no longer injured and getting consistent 1st team minutes (burn that Wenger wouldn't give him) he's probably Arsenal's best asset currently on loan...

Given Vela's productive assist tally (7 currently) he probably should be featured as Van Persie's attack partner during next year's EPL season...

I really don't think that's going to happen, something tells me he's going to stay in Spain...

I actually think Vela is a more dangerous attacker than Chicharito, unlike Javier.. Vela can actually control the ball and create his own shot, and he knows what he wants to do with it. Chicharito has the mental advantage though, and that has gotten him where he is now.
