If that goes in it cuts the game to 1 or could even tie with a foul. Wallace also had the game winning tip in at the buzzer. He's been playing out of his mind lately.

Incredible how he did it right in front of the basket too, and somehow didn't smash his head o nthe rim or backboard! :lol

Why dind't they keep him? I knew he was solid back on teh Kings but was there a reason tehy didn't want him? He's still paid on a relatively "decent' contract. Love the guy's game.

At the time they gave him up they thought they were stacked with better players ahead of him and he wasn't getting the pt. Look at the 2003-4 roster:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/SAC/2004.html

It's strange they didn't work out that he was going to be good, but I guess Peja and Christie got most of the minutes, and for some reason they were playing Anthony Peeler! :lol

He was listed by the Kings in the expansion draft (terrible move) and blossomed after being taken by the Bobcats.

The Kings back then thought it would be wise to prevent Chris Webber from being drafted by the Bobcats in the expansion draft. Terribly move considering that they wouldn't have picked Webber anyway due to his contract.

Josh Howard for Gerald Wallace is a lateral move

Halle Berry

so Josh Howard for Gerald Wallace seems like a downgrade move to you? Gerald isn't actually what you think him to be tbh. Defensively Gerald might probably be an upgrade over Josh but I doubt he could bring any improvement to the offensive system, and probably would work even worse after a move from a swampy team straightly into a team full of stars. Gerald feels great playing in Charlotte currently as the no.1 and only star on that team, especially after Okafor's departure. Even if you managed to get him sometime last year, it shouldn't be anything surprising to see him playing exactly average game as Josh does or even worse. The only help Gerald may possibly bring concentrates on defense only while the Mavs aren't in such a big need for defensive strengthening with Marion on team.

Although I think Wallace would be a slight improvement over Howard at this point, it's mostly because Howard seems to be declining profoundly. I agree with Halle Berry: Wallace isn't as good as his stats from this year would make one think if he was playing for a good team.

Very good defender.

Above average rebounder for a wing, but his numbers are inflated because his playing plenty of minutes at the PF and alongside a non-rebounding big like Diaw.

In a good team, he wouldn't have so many isos, shot attempts and touches like in Charlotte.

Those two losses in contributions (scoring+rebounding) would dramatically alter his effectiveness.

if oj would have just passed it off rudy gay he would have saved himself the embarassment and probably put the game within reach.

This is when Gay tries to do a double windmill 720.

same here. I still think it's hilarious that Mavs fans here thought Josh was either a better player or good enough that it would be a lateral move.

It's even worse that I know more than the GM and owner of the Mavericks.

Wallace is a stud. Does all the dirty work and still gets his points. I would kill to have him on the Spurs.
