Ran the ball through the deep throats of the patriot defense . The era is over for the pats , put a fork in em, with teams like the dolphins and jets improving come next year expect them to be a third place team next year in the afc east .

LOL at the patriots..most predictable offense ive seen in a while..garbage defense & a one man offense..Welker should be getting paid more then Moss & Brady haha

When you say garbage defense are you talking about the defense that gave up the 5th fewest points per game this year?

The Pats aren't done yet. I will wait until they miss the playoffs/don't win the division WITH Tom Brady before thinking something like that. I have been hearing how awesome the fins were going to be this year and they didn't even make the playoffs. Jets caught fire but in order to impress me they will have to win at San Diego Sunday afternoon. Pats have holes on their team but they aren't done yet. They need a running back in the worst way along with a strong draft.

That tends to happen when you lose your best player to injury.

They started out 0-3 and were 4-5 overall during all the games Ronnie was playing.

Agree.
Pats have been amoung the best at free agency.

Altho Jr. Meows pumping his fist after a simple tackle today was pathetic.

They were in the playoff hunt until the end. Having their best player would've have hurt.

I am not doubting on them being playoff contenders. I just heard how they were just gonna "run away" with the division and begin to enter the class of the elites due to their successful 2008-09 campaign.

Patriots will be fine next year. The defense is young and will only get better. If Brady ever pulls his head out of his ass then New England will be back to SB contenders.

It's pretty funny everyone is claiming an era is over. Teams have down seasons. The Colts didn't make it past the wildcard round (yes JT I know it was because of "Jewish officiating" and injuries) last year but look at them now. The NFL is such an up and down league it's hard to tell. The Patriots could easily return to contention next year, and could just as easily miss the playoffs.

Considering the amount of young and/or inexperienced guys who played a significant role on the defense this year it performed well. It needs play better next year and get a better pass rush, but just because the defense isn't as good as it was when New England was winning superbowls doesn't mean it sucks.

The offense, on the other hand, needs to take care of a lot of things if they want to contend next year. Hopefully the slipped play in the offensive line was just due to injuries and that'll get better next year. There really are too many problems with the offense to list.

It would seem to me that as long as you have Brady/Belicheck you're in pretty good shape. The Pats front office also has a way of getting value from picks/trades that almost nobody else in the league can. They'll be okay.

That's indeed one of the problems. The general tackle breaking ability of New England sucks. They really don't have a running back, tight end or receiver who is physical enough to break a tackle and make a play. You look at someone like Ben Watson and wonder why he can't do that, and then you discover he has a vagina.

The Pats should give BenJarvus Green-Ellis a try. Couldn't be worse than letting suck ass Maroney have touches.
