The Hornets have agreed to trade Hilton Armstrong to the Kings, an Eastern Conference exec with knowledge of deal says.

The Kings will send a conditional future second round pick and cash to Hornets for Hilton Armstrong, sources say.

Obviously, the move is a salary dump on Armstrong's $2.8 million salary. This gets Hornets within $500K of luxury tax threshold.

Huge blow for the Hornets playoff hopes. Any rational person could tell they are done now after trading Armstrong.

How can you develop when Byron Scott was your head coach?

lol Armstrong is one of the biggest 1st round draft pick flops of the last 5 years. Part of the blame is on Byron Scott for his downright refusal to play the kid, but then again ... Armstrong never developed much to begin with. good fucking riddance. I honestly can't even recall the last time he has played this season.

Yea. You never have anything good to say about the Hornets. Why don't you just stay outta Hornets-related threads, and STFU!

Here is my question:

Why must you bring all your stupid, negative bullshit to everything hornets-related thread on ST?

Read what you just posted and slap yourself 28 times....We are trying to get rid of a bad contract with some value, and you want to take on another bad contract longer than McGrady's?

Great deal for the Hornets, I thought the Kings could have asked for more.

I'm not sure why the Kings made this move? He's not going to get the minutes ahead of Hawes and Thompson. I have a hard time believing he'd get minutes ahead of Kenny Thomas even. Unless they're looking to trade him.

IDK why they did it either. Hilton isn't worth the league minimum, and he makes $2.8 mill/yr. IDK why any team would pick up that contract( even if Isiah was still a GM).

Because the Hornets sent them $3 millions in cash. Considering that the Kings will only have to pay a bit less than $2 millions to Hilton (the remaining part of his salary for this year), they pocket about $1 millions.

I also think they could have got something a little better (like a 2nd round pick), but they probably think there's a chance Armstrong may help them.

Hilton Armstrong wasn't very good but I thought the Hornets needed his size.
