Yeah this doesn't come as a surprise with us playing at home and Gasol/Laker MVP out of the lineup

I actually bet on LA this morning, it's a no-brainer..hopefully the Spurs win, but I always do this when they're favored in games I'm really into..100 only got me 235, but that's definitely worth it when you consider the value IMO..

I hope they do lose, obviously..it's still a value bet..I just bet these games because at least I'll get something out of it if the Spurs lose, instead of just being angry and not getting anything..yes, I'm that much of a die-hard LOL..

The most money I've lost betting against the Spurs was the series vs. New Orleans..I kept betting on the Hornets in San Antonio, but the Spurs kept winning..sadly, I got all my money back when the Lakers won the series vs. us..

I don't know how you can do that. I'm incapable of betting against my favorite team, no way.

In his defense, I would do the same. You are not betting "against" your team, you are just buying an assurance.

If Spurs looses and he gives all the money to charity, that would be ok for you? :toast

no way, I'm not judging at all. Everybody is free to do whatever they want but I'm not capable of doing that. If my team wins not such a good night I lost money if my team is defeated I will feel guilty of something. I hate that.

It's actually really easy and it helps deal with losses a lot easier..

I NEVER actually bet ON the Spurs though..that would be a lot tougher to do..if they lose the game and I lose the bet, that's double the pain..

Betting against them is very easy though..I guess it depends on how much you value your own money..I'm very loose with money and I end up spending it either way, so might as well involve my teams in it..

This is a trap game for Vegas. Spurs win big tonight. The Spurs have been knocking on the door of becoming an elite team. While their record against good teams is poor, the losses for the most part have not been.

Vegas knows the Spurs roll tonight. That is why they give the Lakers 3 points and everyone says "OMG the Lakers are getting points?!?, I am taking them".

HarlemHeat37

That's true and they do it often, but that's also the only way they'll get any action either way though..I doubt many people would have the balls to bet on the Spurs with the way we're playing..

The Spurs record ATS has been disappointing to gamblers this year..

The Spurs are 3-1 when I bet against them this year..let's see how tonight works..

Betting lines are designed to do one thing: to get even money on both sides of the bet. That way, the losers pay the winners, and the casino gets their cut with little to no risk. If there isn't enough money on one side of the bet, the line is adjusted to make it happen. It has nothing at all to do with who the casinos think will win or by how much.

I think it does have a little to do with that too, but I agree with your main point..

Vegas is very, very accurate with their spreads, it's kind of shocking how accurate they are WHILE still managing to maximize their profits from the gamblers..
