Remember when we lost Game 1 of the 1st Round to the Phoenix Suns (Starburry's miracle heave) ? We all felt down but we came out on top eventually. Expect us to lose game 1 of the WCF too!

Also, we had a Robinson on the line-up in 2003. We have one again this year. Relax guys. I'd rather have us struggle early and squeak out victories and peak late in the play-offs than follow last year's trend of dominating early before falling into a tailspin. :smokin

Game 1 was 03 esque, and the whole team has been (goofy turnovers, young fresh faces, blowing easy leads in the 4th quarter of games)

2003 had Speedy & Manu coming off the bench for us.

2005 has Barry & Udrih coming off the bench for us.

Big difference, very big difference. Speedy & Manu saved Jax & Parker on half the games and even won some games for us as well. If I recall, Speedy & Manu were both on the court in the ending seconds as we won the championship.

I don't see that happening with Barry & Udrih.

Uhuh?

Remember that huge Phienix Game this year, the one in Phoenix with the playoff like atmosphere. We were down and a huge come back was made.

Do you remember?

Do you?

Barry and Udrih were on the floor.

The tough-minded, healthy, road-dominant 03 Spurs played hard in a tough game1 and got beat by a lucky, miracle shot.

The weak-minded, unhealthy, road-wimp 05 Spurs played a shitty game1, and beat themselves by not playing hard, by not being ready for the playoffs.

Big difference.

Splitting @SBC is a disaster for these Spurs, against these Nuggets.

Why weren't the Spurs prepared, focused Sunday night to avoid disaster?

"they just couldnt hit thier shots"

BS. 17 straight missed shots, 17 TOs, in Game1 is not being focused, not prepared to play. That's mid-January shit, not mid-April playoffs.

Worlds of difference between 03 & 05 in terms of confidence and chemistry. Did anyone believe we would lose to phoneix that year, they won on a lucky shot. If we don't show up today we could be gone.

This Denver team would wipe out that Phoenix team. That San Antonio team would likely beat both of them and this San Antonio team pretty handily.

It all depends on the 2-time MVP. In game 1 , he was 60% w/c translates to a modest 18 and 11. If he is at 80-85 % , we should be fine and by game 3 , we expect him to be 90 up % for saturdays showdown in Colorado.
