Anyone watching the 95-96 game Denver @ Utah
on ESPN Classic?

It's early in McDyess's rookie season. He's thinner and a little more agile. Haven't seen him in this era in a long time.

Was he really like Amare back then?

Pre-injury Dice was one of the best in the league both offensively and defense.

Dice was really the total package pre-injury.

Young dice >>> Amare. Dice could actually defend and rebound.

Put a young McDyess on the Suns with Nash and you'd have a scary player.

The McDyess we got now, plays like he doesn't want to be here. Just my 2 cents. He botched that pass from Manu and he had a look on his face like, what the hell you passing me the ball for.

Old Dice was a great player, almost as good as a young Duncan.

In the 3 seasons before the first knee injury McDyess averaged 20.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, and nearly 2 blocks a game. All while averaging .491% from the field.

He had a standing still 42 inch vertical and a one-step 47 inch verticle.

Here's a couple of great mixes of him during those days:
