Anyone watching? I have not seen an awards show in years and I don't really know why I'm watching this one. I'm familiar with most of these people but not much of what they are nominated for. But here's some observations an hour in---please add your own:

Ricky Gervais is hysterical!

My favorite dress so far is on Fergie.

Cher finally got a good plastic surgeon---she looks like herself again :tu

Damn, George Clooney is the finest man in the room as usual.

Wow I really fail because I've never heard of or seen her before this post---and I even watched most of the Golden Globes! :lol I don't know, boobs or not, I just don't get into that "carved out of wax, monochromatic" look so many redheads (Nicole Kidman, and the one from Sex and the City) do so much.

I just don't get into that "carved out of wax, monochromatic" look so many redheads (Nicole Kidman, and the one from Sex and the City) do so much. do you mean the pale look? All redheads are pretty milky. If I'm not mistaken they have crazy skin issues. Hence the paste. At least they glow in the dark.

It's slow moving, so it takes a certain amount of dedication to get through. It's one of my favorite shows now, and I'm sucked in enough that the storyline has become exciting over the last couple of seasons despite its pace, but I couldn't get into it right away. I had been intrigued from the shows beginning, but finally started watching it when someone gave me the first season for Christmas last year. I'll be the first to admit that the first few episiodes bored me. Stuck with it, though, because I thought it would be rude not to at least give it a chance. Somewhere around the 4th or 5th episode, though, I was hooked.
