now that i look back, i can see why the colts tanked that game to the jets
1. the colts' brass carefully studied the schedule and the records and wanted the jets to get into the playoffs, if they beat the jets they run the risk of the texans (a division rival) or the steelers in the playoffs. they figured that the jets would be a good matchup against the chargers, and they had a 50/50 chance for the jets to to beat the chargers, getting the steelers, texans, patriots, and chargers out of the way, the colts would have an easier road to the superbowl.
2. this is also a reverse of the NE/NYG of 2007, the final game of the season new england played everyone, and exposed what they do to the giants team, and they lost in the superbowl. The colts showed little and tanked the game, now the jets dont know what to expect.
only by losing the perfect season could the colts get to the SB.
