I'm not trying to be a troll by any means, but WTF is wrong with the Magic? I gave it some thought and came to the conclusion that their coach is simply a moron. Why don't they change their lineup to:

Nelson/Williams
Carter/Peitris
Barnes/fill
Gortat/Lewis
Howard/Anderson

Why? This gives their second unit a legit scoring machine in Lewis, their first string has two 7 footers that can score in the paint. I've never even seen them try this for a few minutes. Anyone know why?

Anyways, just my two cents while watching the game.

With Boston's age and injuries catching up with them and with the addition of Shaq, Cavs should have no problem winning the east.

Their problem is Vince Carter sucks and takes shots from better players while ruining the cohesion of the offense.

Unless the Cavs got Anwan Jamison or Boston gets healthy, LA will win it all this year.

Carter needs to mix up a few drives to the rim, and try for some contact & not shy away from it.

He still has time to turn it around, got a lot of season left.

Look at those 3 point shooting scrubs, they would be lucky to find a team that has so much spacing cause of Dwight for them to shoot the ball, and they don't even pass the ball to him.

They suck when Vince isn't playing and when he's off the floor too..they also only have one player that is supposed to be better than him, and as you saw in this game, they completely ignored Howard for over 10 minutes when Carter was on the bench..

Their bench shoots way too much, particularly Anderson, Pietrus and Williams..even Rashard Lewis complained about how much the bench shoots and how it's taking shots away from him..

Every single player other than Howard takes too many horrible shots..

Coaching is really their main problem..last year they were literally hot the entire playoffs and benefited from KG being out, otherwise they would have been out in the 2nd round and nobody would have remembered them..

Cavs will get Jamison. I just put 100 bucks on the Cavs winning it all this season. Now I have a reason to root for them.

I cant believe Rashard gets paid as much money as he does.

Time to face the facts luva. Boston is DONE. That window is shut. They are old and can't stay healthy. This was bound to happen.

LOL @ Luva pining away for another classic laker-celtic rematch. Probably ain't gonna happen bro, time to face reality.

Lakers might not even make it to the big dance themselves.

Why is this VC's fault? He's jacking up shots just like everybody on the Magic not named Dwight Howard.

They've got a lot to prove. I still think their best shot is to move Lebron to shooting guard, move Mo Williams to the bench, while getting a longer more athletic SF. The dream scenario for them would be Zydrunas for Jamison and then Moon, Green, Jawad Williams and Darnell Jackson for Ariza (since apparently Houston wants to trade him).

Shaq / Varejao
Jamison / Hickson / Powe
Ariza / Parker
Lebron / Williams / Gibson
West / Williams / Gibson

Carter shoots 15 times per game -- no one else is even close. They have a team full of guys who likes to shoot but no one likes shooting as much as Carter.

But it's not entirely Carter's fault. The Magic just miscalculated what another high usage guy would do to the chemistry of the team. VC is just being VC.

Waste of $100 bucks :lol :toast

Kobe would rather lose in the WCF than let LeBron and Shaq get one on him.

Against anybody else, the Lakers might lose. But Kobe will never lose in the Finals versus LeBron/Shaq.

Kobe's only played well in 1 Finals during his career, I doubt he really has control like that..

Somebody should tell them that NBA players aren't required to only shoot 3-pointers.

the problem is SVG...he seems to have no control over that team and the shots they take. Reddick and Williams just jack up shots as they please, and SVG does nothing about it. And call me stupid, but if Howard gave me 24 pts in the first half, and a good chunk of that on legit low post moves, then I might try to get him a few touches in the second half, maybe draw some double teams and get my shooters better looks.

this team is going nowhere in the playoffs. East is pretty much being handed to CLE

Judging the major summer acquisitions from the season till now, I have to say that

Artest>Ariza>VC=RJ=Hedo>Dyess>Sheed>Gortat

Exactly what I said at the time they traded for VC - swapping a guy who creates for others (Hedo), but can also take and make clutch shots (although not as a Spur, apparently), for a guy who dominates the ball and doesn't make those around him better (VC), was a stupid move.

Coming into this season, Carter and Turkoglu had almost identical assist % numbers the last few seasons when you adjust for the fact that Carter handles the ball slightly more..he also had a significantly better turnover %..

SVG apparently doesn't realize this though, so he runs a completely different style with Carter on the team..Vince thrived with passing on the p&r to guys like Mikki Moore, Josh Boone, Sean Williams and rookie Brooke Lopez..so I really don't know why they don't even try it with Dwight Howard..

Numbers don't always tell the story. As for your second para, good point.

Vince Carter is actually a very good passer. Im a little suss as to what SVG is asking him to do.

if howard FT% > 70% then the magic make a repeat appearances to the finals. howard shot above above 65% ft for a while in last year's playoffs and he appeared dominant. then he started to miss again. it's frustrating to watch howard clank so many free throws. doesn't he understand that if he reworked his shooting stroke over the summer and shoot at a decent clip then he would be unstoppable? i don't understand the logic behind this. can he really not shoot better than 60% at the line?!?
