Is anyone else noticing a serious download speed drop with megaupload? I used to be able to downloat at about 700 KBPS, but not it goes at about 100 KBPS.

I wouldn't be downloading from any non-encrypted sites these days.

in all honesty i didn't know there was supposed to be this big bad crackdown on downloading things online. EVERYONE i know has been doing this for years, still does it, and NONE of them have ever gotten in trouble, except one guy who downloaded hundreds of movies and he only had to pay like a 1,000 dollar ticket.

Isn't MU an encrypting site?

I might fork over the 20 bucks for a 3 month premium account.

i thought they werent cracking down on people anymore, instead are trying to get ISPs to shut down your internet service or something like that

i use vidalia to hide/fake my IP though when downloading

Limewire and Ares as like so 2003

I've downloaded about 40gbs from isohunt in the last 5 months.

That's not too bad. I probably download about 20 gigs a week.

I do about 20 gbs a week and I use demonoid and megaupload. I still get the same 800kb-1mb/s speeds. I haven't noticed a drop off.

If you are experiencing slow download speeds, check to see if there's a kink in the patch cable. :D

:wow that's pretty fucking lame, IMHO. I know people who download movies all the time, and nothing ever happens. i guess it's like when every one on the highway is speeding but the cop singles you out of the whole pack and decides to pull you over.

I have to say that Isohunt is the best! Since I live out of the US at the moment, I have downloaded over 650 gbs of movies and music. I bought a 1TB box the other day, well worth it.

does peer guardian work?

dowloads I recommend

X files - all seasons (25 gb)
Family Guy - all seasons (30gb)
Simpsons - all seasons (45 gb)

I was downloading The Hangover back in December and Grande called me up and said to stop downloading movies and to delete it, they turned off my service for maybe 4 days, I thought it was because of a late payment or something and waited til friday and paid it and the Rep said I had an "abuse ticket" on my account so I told him I deleted it.

I stopped downloading for about a week.

I buy everything except music, I usually download 1 discography a day. I think downloading whole albums helps one blend in a lot easier than just random selections of songs.

Also you don't get busted by the feds anymore, the RIAA goes to your internet provider and says you're downloading and they warn you then cut you off.
