We hear it all the time:

Gasol is as soft as masturbated pussy

Odom's extremely inconsistent and has a candy complex

Bynum is Lazy, doesn't play defense, and has poor footwork. His potential is way overrated

Artest is 100% certifiable. A true head case and his batshit crazy

Fisher is slow, old, and has no penetrating skills

Kobe's faking his injuries and is a volume shooter.

The Bench -- Couldn't scare a group of 5 year olds.

Phil Jackson -- doesn't really coach just sits on his ass and relies on Kobe.

Quite remarkable all this and Kobe is still able to lead this team to multiple finals if not multiple titles. Please keep adding to his legend.

Multiple finals? Multiple titles?

He's only been to one final and has won one championship as the main man on the team.

It's amazing that Gasol makes them a title contender, whereas if Gasol were hurt, they wouldn't make it past the first round

Hey Charles Barkley is that you....main man...ahhh so many caveats....

Shaq with Penny + Anderson + Scott = no title....Shaq with Van Excel + Eddie Jones = no title...Shaq with 'main man' Kobe = multiple titles....there is your answer...no getting around it = Kobe the "main man"....

I am indifferent about Kobe. Perhaps he is/was a ball hog, perhaps he actually committed rape. I don't care.

However...

Seems like the old line "Kobe can't win without Shaq" Has now been replaced with "Kobe has only 1 ring as the leader of his team".

Well, as I see it, Kobe set the table for Shaq 2000-2002 to dominate the weaker eastern teams in the finals with his work in the tougher western conference finals. Spurs fans can't forget what Kobe did to SA in 2001. Kobe was the main man when it counted most, the WCF.

So, reality is, and I believe Kobe said it is, "Shaq couldn't win without Kobe".

When you guys feed the trolls by criticizing Kobe, that just leads to multiple copies of the same threads and replies. No one wins those arguments, and many look foolish doing so.

Kobe will be gone in a few years anyway, the mileage is adding up.

Bynum/Gasol/Odom is hands down the best front line triumvirate in basketball.

Although I agree the repetitive Kobe hate threads are no better. If you wonder why there's so much Kobe talk you should take a look in the mirror.

Very rarely do people go out of their way to attack Kobe on this forum. Usually it's Kobe honks throwing chum in the water to elicit a response. That's on them, not on the rest of us.

As for Kobe, we'll never know if he has the goods to carry a franchise to a title, because he's never done so. He fell into a bucket of cream in Los Angeles. The Laker franchise is far bigger than he is.

He's carried one already.

What, last year's team? That was the best team in the league, they should have won it.

Anyway, I'm talking about carrying a franchise. Kobe never had to lift the Lake Show from the doldrums, because the Lake Show has never really been in the doldrums- not like some other teams.

Here's a question: how many titles would Kobe have won had he decided to play in Charlotte?
