I did hear Amare was headed to Minnesota, but Yahoo.com is reporting it's to the NHL's Minnesota Wild :)

Stoudemire headed to Cavaliers?

By Mark J. Miller

“AmareThe Cleveland Cavaliers just might get a little stronger before the trading deadline hits. The word is that the Cavs are in talks with the Phoenix Suns to trade for Amare Stoudemire, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Stoudemire can become a free agent this summer and the Suns are apparently trying to get a sense of whether he wants to stay with them or not. If it's not looking good, the Suns will trade him away, though other teams will likely want to know what their chances are of re-signing him this summer as well.

Other teams that have apparently made queries for Stoudemire's services include the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Wild, according to the Arizona Republic.

Has David Kahn done anything right?

There's no way even he is that dumb. Unless he's planning on trading jefferson too.

We told you earlier today that the Timberwolves are interested in trading for Amare Stoudemire. ESPN's Chad Ford tweets today that it's a "strong" interest.

Stoudemire would likely have to agree to re-sign with a team in the offseason before a trade happened.

But we'll throw this one out there: The Suns should inquire about receiving Ricky Rubio in any trade talks with the Wolves. Minnesota GM David Kahn has been reluctant to trade Rubio's rights in the past.

And for now, Rubio is playing for FC Barcelona, and as reported by ESPN this past summer, it's likely the earliest he'd come play in the NBA would be 2011.

And that's why he could be a perfect fit for the Suns. Steve Nash will turn 37 in the 2011-2012 season, his last season under contract with the Suns. He could play a mentor to Rubio, a talent who'd be an ideal fit for the Suns' uptempo brand of basketball. He's a playmaker and sees the floor extremely well.

The Suns would probably want to find out if Rubio had interest in playing for them before they made such a deal, and again, Kahn might have Rubio off limits. But at only 19 years of age right now, Rubio has plenty of years left in which to grow into a star point guard in the NBA.

And Nash could certainly help him along with that.

We checked in with ESPN's John Hollinger for his thoughts on this proposal.

There is the espn insider article about it.

He did draft and expect to play 2 point guards.

Even so, the only person I could see making that trade is Isiah and no NBA team will allow him near their teams.

Because having Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, and A'm'a'r'e Stoudemire makes sense.

Kahn is a believer in stockpiling talent; hence drafting Wubio and Flynn (and some other PG he traded away, too lazy to google, Lawson?), and signing Sessions.

He is probably interested in getting 3 PF/C, and trading them away.

Yeah that's one of the smartest things I've ever heard since the Suns have a starting point guard and a backup point guard better than that soft little faggot.

why would they trade for a guy they have no chance to resign?

Bird Rights. They'll be in a position to offer him more money. My thought is that Stupidamire will sign wherever the $ is.
