With 6'10 Al Horford at Center and 6'9 JSmoove at Power Forward, the lure of Small Ball will be too great for Pop to resist.

I just know it, Pop. You gonna surprise us?

Should be a very entertaining up and down the court game though.

This is a great game to bet on against the Spurs, good value..hopefully they play with some pride tonight though..

Expect a lot of RJ at the 4..

I'd rather RJ at the 4 than that 4-guard line-up Pop trotted out the other night with TP, Hill, Mason, Manu, and TD as the lone big....

In this instance however I would defenitely put my money on the spurs tonight.

I actually thought they would beat the Bulls last game, but for some odd reason, the Spurs were favored to win by 8.5 points when I placed the bet..so I had to bet on the Bulls with those odds, even though I hoped and believed the Spurs could beat an average team @ home..a 50$ bet got me 225$, too hard to pass up..

If they're going to play like pussies, I might as well make money to make up for their losses..hopefully I lose some of the $ I've won tonight..

The last time the Spurs dropped 3 in a row at home was before Tim Duncan came out of college in the 1996-1997 season. The Spurs dropped 6 straight at home to end the 1997 season. Beat that. That was what I read before though. I am not sure whether this is right.

I think you got the order wrong.

Spurs grab the lead in the 1st quarter.
2nd quarter comes, Pop puts in small ball. After a 6-0 run by the Hawks, Spurs call timeout. Pop then proceeds to continue with small ball until the 3rd quarter when the Spurs go down by 8. The momentum already shifted and then the Spurs will eventually get screwed.

Jeff McDonald: Here's what the Yahoo! report said, in a nutshell: "The Spurs have talked amongst themselves about maybe possibly hypothetically thinking about considering starting to really think about possibly putting together a deal for Amare."

I don't think I am disappointed. I just feel really pissed off at all the losses when Pop tries to play his 5 best players on the court, unfortunately most of the guards, so usually he winds up with small ball because the guards deserve more minutes than his bigs, so he steals the minutes of the bigs to get more playing time for his guards, like George Hill.

Hill guarding Johnson? Can this team ever not be either severely undersized or ill-equipt to guard the opposition's best player? Hill has no chance in this match-up, because Johnson can easily overpower him or just shoot up over the top.

The Spurs always play pretty well in the first half. If they stick to the schedule, they'll give up a big run at the end of the second to make it close, then take the lead midway through the third and be up double digits going into the 4th, and Pop will put in a small guard lineup to catch up that won't be able to stop anyone and they'll lose by 4-8 points.

On this unit, RJ must assume scoring responsibilities and Manu can handle playmaking and decoy duty.. Spurs as a whole are good guys who like to defer too much specially to the Big 3.. a little swagger and "selfishness" can be good at times.
