Craig James, if just a dad who thinks he can run a school. The bold faced liar had lied through this whole TECH debacle. Frankly, I am sick of this guy and I hope that his kid leaves the program. Because of one has-been football player, now espn analyst, Tech lost Leach and Ruffin (who went to E. Carolina and became head coach). How one man can have so much influence is beyond me. Grow up Craig, your son sucks at football!

Texas Tech attorney says Craig James threatened to sue over now-fired coach's treatment of son

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — The father of injured Texas Tech receiver Adam James threatened to sue the university if it didn't investigate then-coach Mike Leach, according to a memo released Wednesday.
Texas Tech University System attorney Ronny Wall wrote in the Tuesday memo to the Texas attorney general that the threat came during a Dec. 20 exchange with James' father, ESPN sports analyst Craig James. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal obtained a copy of the memo in response to an open records request.
The university fired Leach on Dec. 30, two days after suspending him amid allegations he mistreated Adam James, who was recovering from a concussion. The receiver says Leach twice ordered him to stand for hours while confined in a dark place during practice.
Leach denied the allegations, and responded to his firing with a lawsuit against the university, alleging libel, slander and breach of contract.
The Tech memo says James' father "indicated that litigation could ensue" if Tech didn't investigate Leach "for the improper treatment" of his son.
"The threat did not appear to be an idle threat as the parent expressed genuine concern for the health and well-being of his injured child, as well as other student-athletes," the memo continued.
James spokesman Scott McLaughlin issued a statement late Wednesday saying James never threatened to sue Texas Tech.
"Further, Texas Tech initiated its investigation of its own accord," he said.

Or just a) recruit kids of character, b) don't come up with unusual (even if they're not cruel) ways of disciplining them, and c) respect concussions - coaches ignored them as a real thing for too long, so if the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction where we're over-sensitive about them, they only have their own profession to blame.

Eh.
I don't really care that the James family are a bunch of dbags. At the end of the day, Leach stuck a kid with a concussion in a small room. I think Tech went too far in firing him, but it's hard to place any blame on James.

how do you figure that an analyst for a national broadcast station is less famous than the coach of a mediocre football team that only a few regional fans get to see?

Craig James is known to all college football fans, but people that don't give a shit about football have no idea who he is.
That's semi famous, as opposed to say, Tiger Woods who everyone one in the civilized world knows now.

Damn shame that Leach got the ax. But I'm glad Ruffin got a HC job at E Carolina IIRC. He deserves it and Tubberville can recruit and put a better defensive scheme into place. Though he is using this job as a stepping step - he will do to TT the same thing he did to Ole Miss but maybe some Tech fan will put him a pine box if he does - TT will have a better overall team than Leach has put together IMO. For more on Tubberville check out this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Tuberville
And I understand what Tech has done in the last couple of years but my point is that when it came down to winning it all - getting to the Big 12 championship game and a possible BCS title shot they haven't come through even though they are one hellava team to watch. Damn fun team! I just believe that for all the ofensive talent and schemes that Leach has been able to put together at Tech he hasn't been able to get the corresponding talent on the defensive side. If Leach had been able to get defensive talent that Texas and OU has then it's a different story.
So what's your opinion on Jeffcoat then? Nothing is going to happen IMO since I believe that this instance with Craig James was an abberation.
I went to the Alamobowl and one Tech fan had a sign saying -
Who's next of Craigslist?

???
I :lol at that
