DAVOS, Switzerland (CNN) -- Bill and Melinda Gates said Friday that the Gates Foundation will spend $10 billion in the next 10 years to research, develop and deliver vaccines for the world's poorest nations.

Increased investment in vaccines by governments and the private sector could reduce child mortality in developing countries, the Gates Foundation said in a statement.

"We must make this the decade of vaccines," Bill Gates said. "Vaccines already save and improve millions of lives in developing countries. Innovation will make it possible to save more children than ever before."

The Gates' made the announcement at the World Economic Forum here in Davos, Switzerland.

While I have never been a fan of most Microsoft products, major props to Gates for becoming a philanthropist with the money he has accumulated.

I will happily continue to support all Windows products. I've been a big fan of Bill Gates since he started all of this philanthropy. Very good.
