Here's the ESPN"s sports guy take after gm 1 of nuggs-spurs....

Denver-San Antonio: As predicted, the Spurs are in BIG trouble here – Duncan clearly isn't 100 percent and the Nuggets looked like they absolutely believed they could and should win the series. I went from thinking "The Spurs will squeeze out a tough win in seven games" to thinking "I would be surprised if the Spurs won the series" within two hours. By the way, is it too early to think about Eva Longoria (Tony Parker's new babe) joining the Mia Hamm Hall of Fame for high-profile girlfriends who could potentially kill the careers of their mates?

....although in all fairness, there were a lot of people thinking like that after game 1, I really wonder how he feels about the series now even though there is still a lot of work to be done in this series.

Everyone that jumped on Tony after the game because of Eva was fucking stupid... I mean... how many spurs home games has she been to this year?

She sits about 6 feet from me (his dad sat in those seats last night) and she has been to 7 or 8 games NONE of which we had lost until game 1.

Tony didnt even have THAT bad of a Game... Certainly not as Standout bad as say... Beno.

Idiots.

THEY make a big deal out of them dating and then THEY say it is a distraction when the people Tony Dates have ALWAYS come to the game.

LoLo was at almost EVERY game last year!!

in all fairness, that was written before game 2. the series looked quite a bit different before the spurs won last night.

yeah, I'm sure he wasn't the only "analyst" to dismiss the Spurs

So you are saying she wasn't there last night, quite the coincidence don't you think.

She has her own job a few thousand miles away form here, so it's easily explainable.

If Spurs fans want to be assholes, and blame the loss on a woman that is simply dating someone, go right ahead. But keep in mind all you are doing is just that, being an asshole.

Everyone of those Spurs walk in with the person they are either married to or dating, and never once has this even come up before. The fact that Tony is dating an actress doesn't mean thats all he thinks about.

After the flack Tony caught for something as simple as showing up with his girlfriend, can you really blame him for having her stay at home last night?

I think some people are just testy because Parker still is not, and never will be, AJ.

Tony had no one stay home last night.

Was she not there or was she sitting with Tony's other friends in a Skybox to not draw any attention to herself?

Holt goes to every game but only sits in his courtside seats occasionally anymore.

I know that players have access to several skyboxes.

I think she was there, just not in the seats that Tony pays for right behind me.

Honestly I just think people need to look at what happens ON the court as a reason that they lost game 1.

I mean does anyone blame what is happening off the court in a loss in a game of Pickup Basketball?

How rediculous would that sound?

"Yeah man, got laid by Eva last night, thats why I had a shitty game. By the way, great halfcourt shot there at the end of the second period Andre, how long has your wife had you cut off?"

Spurs fans need to learn how to calm the fuck down. Every season it never fails that Joe Sportswriter dogs the Spurs and then the city goes apeshit over it. Who fucking cares?

Tony had no one stay home last night.

You can't immediately make that assumption, but really...

If Eva wanted to be at the game last night, she could've been there. She's found the time to go all season. All things considered, I'm sure she probably wanted to go, to support Tony and the team.

However, I also suspect that at one point or another, there was some sort of dialogue involving Parker that disuaded her from being in attendance.

All of it is merely speculation, but I hardly consider it out of the realm of posibillity. After the media brew-ha-ha that boiled over after Game 1, I'm sure they both understood that it probably wasn't such a good idea to bring attention to themselves.

I didnt watch, listen or read anything after we lost the first game.

I didn't even come here, SPECIFICALLY to not see all the doom and gloomers.

People say shit after a loss that is utterly useless and infuriating.

Dex,

I'm not making an assumption. Tony had no one stay home yesterday.

Methinks Manny knows more than he is revealing.

Have you gone CIA on us too?

For the record, I agree with you in the fact that the Tony/Eva issue has been blown completely out of proportion. But without the Lakers around to inspire the NBA gossip, I guess they have to fill the tabloids with something.

That's because that was before they were officially dating.

And Manny is right, Eva wasn't at the game last night and it had nothing to do with Tony being called out by Barkley, blah, blah, blah. Tony's had bad games in front of Eva (i.e. Sacramento earlier the season) and he's had great games in front of her.
