Just seeing the first minute of video one:

1. Its nice to see Tim getting up and down the court without a limp
2. Manu has some vert that he no longer has
3. Nazr was a nice paint presence on D

If anyone has noticed....

Our offense went through Duncan every time down the floor. Even if he was 10 for 24 that game. It opened up everything for everyone else.

In close games this year we stubbornly run the pick and roll with Manu/ Tony/ Hill over and over again to close games.

Today Duncan didn't receive the ball one time on the block in the 4th quarter...

People also were pretty harsh on Nazr... but the guy could rebound and block shots very well.

Horry and Bowen also made a big difference... and haven't been replaced.

This team misses Bowen really bad.

Oh, My gosh! I just watched all the videos of game play...it saddens my heart to know from how high we have fallen. Spurs Dynasty RIP 1999-2007

Nazr played well that season after that he had a whole year to keep up the performance but he sucked all year long, that's why he wasn't resing. Don't overhype players for 5 minutes of video. Use the head people.

I miss the low-scoring, defensive games we used to have. We don't see many of those anymore in today's NBA.

I miss him a bunch, whenever he was on the court, the ball was moving on the offensive end.

Great post. I'm not seeing the huge disparity between this year's team and that one honestly. I see 2 of the big 3 playing at a superstar level and team defense. Last time I checked we're playing the same system, it's just taking awhile to click. Once it does and one or both of Parker/Ginobili regains their swagger, this team can win it. Excuse me as I back away from the cliff.

Edit - ...and holy crap Sheed has gotten fat!
