this seems WAY low to me....it honestly seems like it should be closer to 9...it seems like he gets 6 per half if not quarter lol.
i guess its cause every 2-3 games he only gets to play a few minutes, must be dragging his avg down bad. i was shocked when i saw it was only 6.

Look at per minute numbers.

You should be more shocked at Dyess' numbers. Hopefully he brings it a lot more consistently in the second half - we're gonna need it if we intend on keeping our preseason title aspirations alive.

Think of how many easy layups he has missed, it should be much higher..

Look at per minute numbers.

yeah, you would think he'd be getting alot more minutes.

but now that Bonner and finley are back, i assume he wont see the floor more than 8-10 minutes a game no matter how many rebounds he gets.:bang

TR% is by far the best measure of rebounding IMO..

Blair's % is 21.7, which is #1 on the Spurs..not only that, but he's actually tied for #2 in the NBA, tied with Dwight Howard..he obviously isn't of that caliber since his stat is against more bench players and he plays less minutes, but it shows how great of a rebounder he really is..

If he actually can play better defense, there would be more rebounds for him to catch available if he forced more misses.

Blair has three problems with playing defense:

1)ref assignment a
2)ref assignment b
3)ref assignment c

Yeah, I'm exaggerating by a wide margin, but if Timmy can get 6 fouls in a single half when he's going for 20,000 @ home, should tell you the amount of respect they have for Blair. He's punished for the tiniest mistakes and that's just not fun to watch, thanks Stern.

Blair's worst day with the refs is still better than Bonner's best day.

Blair's worst day with the refs is still better than Bonner's best day.

Bonner: 1.83 Fouls/g
Blair: 2.5 fouls/g

Nearly exactly the same minute avg.

Also, I bet you can't find the last time Bonner fouled out. Blair fouled out this season.

You're about to argue that, "Blair plays in the paint, Bonner doesn't," but that's not what you just said.

You just said Blair's worst day with the refs is still better than Bonner's, and you'd be wrong.

because when you add up his total rebounds thus far divided by the number of games he's played in you get 6.

Blair has blown so many easy layups and dunks this year. That's why he's not shooting 90%.

You guys have always found a way to inflate your players, but the numbers don't lie.

How many 20 rebound games does Bynum have? Oh, that's right. NONE. Blair did in his first 20 games, and handful of starts what Bynum hasn't done in 4+ injury ravaged years.

Why is Blair blowing so many layups and dunks? Is it because he just can't get enough lift to go up or is it just a rookie clumsyness thing?

He tends to rush things because the NBA game is faster. It's a young player mistake.

In your sig, did Blair just get a board or is he about to slam that shit? I'm 90% sure you have no clue, but I'm going to assume it's a rebound.:toast

No, just a better rebounder...at this point.

Blair 6.6 per 18 minutes.
Bynum 8.3 per 32 minutes

He's already putting up better numbers in his rookie year than Bynum did in year two, and in 5 fewer minutes.

I'm sure there's a corresponding thread over at LakersGround entitled 'How does Bynum only avg 8.3 rpg?'. Why don't you run along and go check.

I think i predicted about 7 and 7 at the beginning of the year, but i thought he would be doing it in about 25 minutes a night. Instead, his Per-25 minute numbers are like 12 and 10 :lol

At the same point in each player's career, it's clear that Blair is a far better player. What that means going forward is anyone's guess.

Yet only can manage 18 minutes a game. Now, either you are stupid, or Pop is stupid. I got my money on you.:toast
How about you being stupid? I would bet my entire family fortune on this.

Don't try to change the subject. Blair's a better player than Bynum was at the same stage in his career. In fact, Blair has better numbers than Bynum did in his second year playing 22 minutes a game. Now either you are stupid or, well there's no other choice.

Blair's game has to be kept in perspective. His numbers are lower because of less minutes, at times. He also is a 20 year old rookie and as a result has been lost on occasion in games. His rebound total can sometimes be skewed as he is very good at getting his own missed shot. Doing this 2-3 times pads the rebound stats verses someone who makes the shot the first time. Rodman was much the same way with many of his rebounds. Blair right now is most important when energy is needed. He needs to understand that, as well. Also, he needs to try and be contagious. Fire up everyone would go along way for the whole team.

How about DeJuan Blair tonight? 9-9 streak through 3 quarters. Grabbed his average in boards. Got a couple steals and blocks and played decent on D.
