They were going to do a 25th anniversary re-release anyway, and decided to devote this issue to Haiti relief.

A good portion of the older songs are songs that belong to even older dudes that sang/wrote them. If anyone should be pissed it's your great grandfather...

'Eh, Jimi Hendrix made a living off of covers, and they were incredible. With that said, why would anyone cover a song that was shitty the first time around, using artists with 1/2 the talent?

They could've composed something new rather than give Haiti a hand me down song. But its the thought that counts, even if they didn't put very much into it.
