Who are your top ten favorite spurs of all time? I'm not talking about talent or stats, but the players that are just your favorite for one reason or another. You can't be wrong-unless you pick someone who has never played for the Spurs.... feel free to share why you chose who you did.

Here are mine:
1. David Robinson
2. Tim Duncan
3. Manu Ginobili
4. Sean Elliott
5. Tony Parker
6. Bruce Bowen
7. Avery Johnson
8. Mario Elie
9. George Hill
10. Malik Rose

No Gervin cuz I'm young and started watching during the Del Negro, JR Ried, Doc Rivers, Chuck Person (almost made the list) days, but those were tough times. Everyone on my list has at least one ring but Hill.

Horry would have made my list if he wouldn't have played for the lakers... He was a huge part of the 05 championship though. Wouldn't have won it without him.

My Top 10:

1.) Manu Ginobili (style of play; passion for the game)
2.) David Robinson (class act; role model)
3.) Tim Duncan (most sound player I've ever watched)
4.) Bruce Bowen (never failed to inspire me with his defense)
5.) Avery Johnson (always in command on the floor)
6.) Tony Parker (human highlight reel, I mean seriously, routine 1 on 3 fast breaks?)
7.) Malik Rose (who says heart can't make up for height?)
8.) Mario Elie (never took shit from anybody; lit a fire under the teams' ass in '99)
9.) Sean #32 (memorial day miracle alone was enough to make my list!)
10.)Steve Kerr (dude was clutch!)

Honorable Mention: Robert Horry, Vinny Del Negro, George Hill

Sadly, the Spurs never had that option after Spider got injured in Seattle the previous round. He could have given some decent minutes when Bowen went to the bench.

Quick list off the top of my head.
1. David Robinson - Super star of the human race
2. Tim Duncan - 4 rings
3. Manu Ginobli - I like his style and energy
4. George Gervin - Had his 'ice throne' poster on my wall as a kid
5. Bruce Bowen - The guy was an underdog his whole life and became the best at his job.
6. Tony Parker - Underrated and willing to listen and improve every year
7. Malik Rose - All heart and hustle
8. Robert Horry - for those 2 rings
9. George Hill - Young player who just 'gets it'
10. Sean Elliott - For the best Memorial Day ever!

Ugh. So many Spurs that I left off the list, but appreciate them all. Blair will definitely be on this list soon, but who do you bump? I loved A.J. on and off the court also...

3. Brent Barry
4. Tony Parker (when he's not shooting long jumpers)
5. David Robinson (watched him when he was near retirement, so he falls down the list)
6. Bruce Bowen
7. Robert Horry (Big Shot Rob was unconventional, but he did the right things at their time)
8. Steven Jackson
9. Malik Rose
10. Fabricio Oberto (smart, smart player, I miss all those backdoor cuts he had for a quick lay-in)

Hill and Blair, 3 years down, would be moving up the list.

1. David Robinson Reason i became a Spurs fan...
2. Tim Duncan Does this need explaining?
3. Sean Elliott That 3 ... enough said.
4. Brent Barry I dont know what it was about him, but i just liked his playing style and humour.
5. George Gervin That laugh cracks me up every time.
6. Manu Ginobili / Tony Parker (Tie) Is this cheating? :P
8. Bruce Bowen No rings without this man.
9. Malik Rose It sucked when he was traded, and he was amazing versus the Lakers and Dallas.
10. Dejuan Blair The newcomer!

For me, it was almost impossible to list any player that wasnt really a 'Spur', but more of a loan player - like Robert Horry (dudes more known for the lakers) and Mario Ellie (Rocket through and through) - Brent Barry was the exception, because he won with the Spurs and nowhere else...
