That brought them from title contenders to a rebuilding team.

I'm with you on that...!

Hell, maybe Holt can trade RJ to the Silver Stars for Becky. At least we'd get some points when it counted from her.

Have you ever traded for Kwame Brown? Although it can be argued he was the best post defender for the Lakers in the past five years.

Benoit Benjamin didn't work out well either.

For the money he's up there. Also in terms of the level of disappointment. Not a lot of guys mentioned so far were making $14 million at the time of the trade, or were considered the missing piece to a championship.

People in Milwaukee probably weren't really disappointed in the Dirk trade until 4-5 years into his career. Also, a lot of people wanted Rodman out of town and didn't expect to get an All-star in return for him. He rubbed a lot of the religious guys (Robinson, Cummings, etc.) the wrong way as well.

This however, is Iverson level in its significance to the team that traded for him. I mean he's blowing up our title chances, and he's stuck here for two years not one. He certainly not the only reason this team's struggling but he's a big one.

Oden over Durant.

I think about this all the time. The problem is the way Oden played in the national championship game sealed the deal for him going number one.

When the Griz traded for Kwame and gave the Lakers that scrub Gasol....oh wait....

well being that we didnt give up all that much means i wouldn't put it as anywhere near the worst trade....disappointing....definitely could be one of the highest

I recall the pure excitement and buzz that was spurstalk after the spurs acquired jeff and mcdyess over the Summer. I along with most of the people here believe that with a healthy team we could be legit contenders and give the lakers a good run. Well, Dick is a complete failure-he doesn't even look for the ball, stands around, shitty rebounder/shitty defender, totally disinterested and un-energetic. His failure along with a lot of other reasons has led to a pretty mediocre team.

Sad we lost another year of a good TD....hopefully we can trade dicks expiring contract next season for a player that can bring some energy and confidence

Jefferson has been a huge disappointment, but at least the Spurs didn't give up their cap space to pick up some nice players this summer. :toast

Yeah too bad the league changed perimeter hand-checking rules and basically made this a swingman's game. Durant is absolutely perfect for this era, and the Blazers should have seen that coming with guys like LeBron and Melo emerging.

I'll agree with this one. Even when the Suns just gave the car keys to Shaq, and he started putting up 20-10's every night, the Suns still didn't make the playoffs in his final year.

that wasn't a trade plus i don't know what anybody expected from him other than a backup pg that might occasionally score (that was my expectation anyways, and he met it)

Utah Jazz trading Dominique Wilkins for some scrubs

Or Atlanta trading the same Wilkins for Manning

Atlanta could have won the East in 94

Yeah, but we didn't give up TP to get RJ. We gave up some junk and will still have a 15 mil expiring contract for next year to recharge if this year craps out. No where near the demise of Detroit. They lost Billups and spent big cash with their piggy on guys who did not deserve the cash. They would have been better off playing low ball 1 year deals and jumping into the fray this summer. They also would still be a playoff team if they had not traded Billups.
