The Mavericks are among the teams interested in Kings shooting guard Kevin Martin. The Sacramento Bee points out that the struggles of the two teams could increase the possibility of a deal. Dallas has lost four of their last five games, which may encourage them to swing a trade prior to the Feb. 18 deadline.
Any deal sending Martin to the Mavericks would likely have to involve a third team.

Lets pray Donnie won't turn it another fart in wind this time.

supposedly it was only because Dirk submitted an ultimatum towards the front office demanding a new quality teammate while those retards weren't ready to lose any boy in blue, that Dirk got benched for a couple games where Mavs all finished at the losing side. The only reason such an action didn't ink Dirk on transfer list is simply that he's Dirk, and even the retards know without him their team would face an immediate drowning.

When a trade was legitimately proposed to table about swapping Josh Howard for Gerald Wallace, Donnie let it down ultimately even if it wasn't an immediate rejection. I would agree it's lateral move to trade Josh for Wallace or Salmons if smokey could continually giving such outputs consistently as he did last night, and I'm afraid he would be reconsidered someone valuable for this team as an inevitable result of one good game he played especially, by those retards who could have traded him but didn't. I hope other teams would also consider it a sign of reviving for Smokey and subsequently overestimate his current value, and make some legit offers for him... but no one does since there is only one Donnie Nelson in today's NBA, the same person who would rather draft Pavel Podkolzin at that event over Devin Harris with his invaluable 5th pick.

Donnie is, if not worse, a servile fawner that doesn't dare to make one single cracking sound against Cuban's tune as though he was hired to fulfill the only duty of delighting his boss by coaxing him, especially after Don Nelson departed.

Martin would be a Jason Terry replacement down the line, nothing more. He's not putting Dallas over the top or anything.

Honestly with such a retard being Mavs GM I don't and will never expect this team to reach the top of conference. But the pressing concern has been quite noticeable even for blinders that the Mavs are beginning to lose the meager confidence they still have and the projected future seems quite a horrible one for boys in blue. The Miami Cheat are also struggling in eastern conference for a playoff spot but they have at least swindled a ring for franchise history, and even when they're struggling they still have a top5 NBA star to afloat themselves and their postpone is much younger than Dirk. Therefore it's presumable that when Mavs start the painful process of rebuilding, they will have nothing, absolutely nothing but a sorry bundle of chronic stinking contracts. At finest I expect a move that could possible lift the Mavs higher than Nuggets, and even such a conservative expectation is hard to fulfill given the perfect combination of dumbness and stupidity on Donnie Nelson.

none of these trades would make dallas any better. there just an alright team, a little better the spurs, and nowhere near the nuggs or the lakeshow.

Another active buyer in trade talks, the Mavericks, haven’t pushed hard for Kevin Martin in their conversations with Sacramento, sources say. That’s an indication that the Mavs are focused on another wing who’d fit their needs – Washington’s Caron Butler. How aggressively the Wizards look to unload contracts as they try to pick up the pieces from Gilbert Arenas’ suspension depends on how a fundamental internal disagreement is resolved. Some elements of the Wizards’ power structure favor “completely blowing it up,” according to one source, while others are holding out for a more patient approach. “How badly does Dallas want Caron Butler?” one rival executive said. “Washington will find out.” The Mavs have not been pushing for Antawn Jamison in their talks with the Wizards, believing they have enough 30-somethings on the roster.

:lol Caron will be 30 in a month.

Dealing for Caron Butler or Kevin Martin is the epitome of stupidity. Neither of these guys will make us much better, if at all, and at what price? Further ensuring our mediocrity for the next 1 or 2 years? If we can't get some pieces that make us contenders, then we need to just stand pat, plain and simple. Let Josh's and Dampier's contracts come off the books and free up 21 million in cap space. Start developing Roddy and weeding out some of these bad contracts so that we can build for the future. Trade Dirk for a pick while his value is still high. And I can't stress enough how hard our guys need to be out there scouting for the next draft day steal. But trading for Kevin Martin or Butler does nothing.
