There are conflicting views on how available Marcus Camby actually is depending on the source.

The Clippers are believed to be looking for a player that can help them in 10-11, or cap space to sign a maximum contract free agent this summer.

Denver and New York, two of Camby's previous teams, are both interested in dealing for him.

I'm assuming the Nuggets would play Camby in the reserve C role behind Nene? Camby and Birdman would be the most potent shot-blocking duo in the league. :lol

I don't understand why they'd want Camby. At this point Birdman is just a younger slightly better version of Camby who brings a unique energy and intensity off the bench. Keep giving those reserve minutes to Birdman.

I doubt they can bring him back, but they need a 4th big to take some minutes.

He is too expensive and doesn't add too much.

Although an optional big lineup of Billups/Melo/K/Nene/Camby would be nice vs the Lakers :lol

I don't think the Nuggets need Camby, but getting him would fortify the frontcourt and the Nuggets are probably anticipating that they'd need to add a fourth big for a purposes of a playoff series against the Lakers. They could use the added rebounding and extra 6 fouls. But, no, the Nuggets don't "need" him. And, the Nuggets don't appear to have the pieces to acquire him anyway.

I think they'd give up more than an extra 6 fouls is worth.

They need to add a bulkier tougher player. You don't need multiple frail athletic weak side defenders. Kurt Thomas would be ideal for them.

They "had" him ...

Random thought for the thread, Camby's DPOY was one of the biggest bullshit awards given out in recent professional sports history.

Agreed, it's a disgrace that Duncan never won one but this overrated POS won.

It would only work if K would come off the bench and that can't happen. K is playing great ball (averaging a double/double in 2010) and anchors the defense.

Camby would have to start along side Nene though because the man defense from bird and camby together would be atrocious.

Camby trade won't happen and i am glad it won't. Trades suck that bring back former players, unless their name is Chauncey :smokin
