Tony (if he can stay healthy for an extended period of time), GH3, Blair, and Splitter looks like a pretty good nucleus of players for the future.

Imagine how scary he's going to be when he learns the tricks..right now he still isn't used to going up against 7 footers, he's going to learn the tricks of going up against them and how to get his shots off easier..
I knew he was going to be good, but I didn't think he was going to be this good so soon..

That's a good thing, because his career can probably be measured in a 4-5 year time span. Why so short? Those doctors weren't totally wrong. Having no ACLs, both of his knees are less stable than normal. What does that mean? That means over time, his knees are basically wobbling and grinding. Eventually his meniscus will both be shot, and his knees will be bone on bone. The mistake around the league was the GMs not wanting to give him 2 years guaranteed on a first round contract.

Yeah, Sean Elliott and Hines Ward were both plagued with knee injuries and short careers.

Not necessarily true. Blair had the surgery in high school and was probably already very strong in the leg. After the surgery, as his legs strengthened even more, his quads began to compensate for the wobble. By now, his body has adapted to the intense physical activity and is probably just as stable as anyone else.
Don't count out the human body or spirit. There are people who re-learn to walk after being told by doctors that there's no hope. It's not unfathomable to think that he could have a long and healthy career.

You don't know who Paul Gasol is? He plays for the Lakers.
He also has a brother, Mark Gasol who plays for Memphis. :lol

His physicality is an indeniable bright spot in this kinda disapointing season. I really hope his ceiling in terms of consistance and defense is high enough for our spurs future.

Right, becuase they both weighed 270 lbs and had it in both knees. Oh, wait, no they didn't!.
First off, I certainly agree with your take that the mistake teams made was by not being willing to risk a rookie contract on the guy.
On the other hand, Ward played 4 years at Georgia and has currently been in the NFL 12 years, all that time running and cutting and jumping and getting hit and tackled by the biggest, strongest, fastest people in the world and his knee still hasn't broken down.
Elliott played 4 years at Arizona and played 11 years in the NBA as the team's primary defender and a guy known for his leaping ability, and would likely have played longer if not for his kidney problems.
The fact that niether player's knee was a concern in a combined 31 years of competition at the highest levels leaves your characterization completely without any basis in fact.
The average career of an NBA player is five years. It's not surprising that we as fans don't know that fact, but there's really no excuse for all the teams that passed on Blair not to know it.

Brandon Jennings looked like the winner early on but the guy shoots a crappy FG%. I thought I had a big steal when I picked him up 1 day before he scored 55 points.
Blair doesn't have a chance because he doesn't get the minutes. If he can keep improving though he could be in the group of second round steals (Arenas, Redd, Lewis, Boozer, Ginobilil.)
Wow I didn't realize how many all stars came out of the second round. Monta and Okur were second rounders too.

Maybe he'll get more than 3 minutes per game now.
Reminds me so much of a young Malik Rose, but potentially even better.
potentially? He's already had a better career than Malik Rose. Pretty sure Malik wasn't a 1st team NCAA All-American as a Sophomore either.

So much better than Malik at that stage... and so much more potential going forward.
