...and lots of it. It's probably not much to some of our posters up north, but it's the biggest snow storm East Texas has seen in better than 20 years. I'd say we got somewhere between 6-8 inches.

I just go through making the 25mph trek to work. I took some pictures and I will post them later when I get home. How do things look for you Dallas folks?

Well, I am just reporting that my office closed. The news last night said ice formed because there was a lot more moisture than expected. Most everywhere is either closed or had delayed openings until 11.

Any freezing rain yet? When I was over there in 2007 you had a week of that. I took some real cool pics of it, and nearly got killed by falling ice. How many people get killed by falling ice (from powerlines and trees) after freezing rain events I wonder?

Alright...here's a few pics. As I said, it's probably nothing to those north of Texas, but it's the first meaningful snow we have had here in 22 years.

Most single day snowfall in metroplex history

it was the best snow that could have possibly snowed...wish i had the day off i would have played all fucking day

There was little or no wind...and the temperature itself was not painfully cold. The snow was a steady gentle downfall. For twenty four straight hours.

Supposedly some carports in coppell collapsed because of all the snow. I was outside a couple nights ago and this huge tree branch collapsed from the weight. Awesome.

Sleeting like a mofo here in RR.

I had 2" of snow on the ground when I left home this morning (NE RR)... enough sleet from the overnight to freeze over the driveway pretty well. Snow stopped when I left for work and on the drive in, I saw less and less snow the further I got from home.

Just tons of freezing rain now but it's just a tiny change away from turning back into a texas blizzard.

Its been snowing just 40 miles from SA all morning so far. Wasn't Austin getting it too already? There is a 1000 foot difference between most of SA and Kerrville, though, and that makes a lot of difference.

Still, lots of places in NW SA over 1k feet elevation so if you live out on those hills you will see things first. But really I think by 1pm or so people on here in SA will start posting OMG ITS SNOWING.

This round of stuff will come to an end fairly soon. The ULL is still in West Texas but its moving fast. I think there's a decent shot at a band of really light snow coming through later this afternoon.

I do think after this band goes through the temp will drop a bit more from evaporational cooling so if anything else falls this afternoon is more likely to be snow than sleet or rain.
