Mine are always Tuesday and Thursday. Pretty crappy days if you ask me but that's how life is I guess. It's crappy because Tuesday and Thursday are weekdays. It also sucks because Tuesday and Thursday are the least busiest days at my work. I would rather be off on the busier days at my work. It would be nice to have a Saturday or Sunday off. So what are your days off? Are you fortunate enough to get Saturday and Sunday off or do you get certain weekdays off each week? Do you like having consecutive days off or do you prefer them to be spread out?

Monday and Thursday due to availability, and then whatever else the schedule determines.

Could be worse. At least there's some consistency so you can plan to do things in advance.

When I was working for the San Antonio Public Library, I had Sunday/Monday off. The branch was closed on Sunday, and volunteering to work every Saturday was the only way that I could get two days off in a row. I don't know how you guys do it, not getting the two days consecutively.

The best, though, was working out in Yellowstone when I did 4 10's and had every Sat/Sun/Mon off.

Where do you work that gives you Tuesday and Thursday off? Those are kinda odd days?

I work a 7 day rotation. 7 days on then 2 days off. So my first week will be Tuesday, Weds.. Next week is Thurs, Friday.. then the last week I get Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

I also work 11pm to 7am where any day I can be forced to work a 16 and back in 8.. and can be told to come in 4 hours early.

Hours suck.. pays great though.

Usually I'm off Sunday and Wednesday (Saturday night and Tuesday night - I work the graveyard shift) but it can vary from time to time. I almost never have consecutive nights of unless I request them in advance.

I think it is next to impossible to get consecutive days off when you work in retail. The last retail job I had was working in Radio Shack about ten years ago. I never got a Sat and Sun off. Maybe a Sunday and a Tuesday.

I think I recall the op stating before that he worked at Target. It is next to impossible getting good days off working in retail. Ten years ago when I worked at Radio Shack, my days off were some Sundays and almost every Tuesday. Unfortunately most retail places busiest times are on the weekends.

I like having Wednesday off. I get a lot of stuff done while stores are not crowded, and I like not having to do it on the weekend.

Back in the mid 70's to mid 80's I was transferred to work a Prudhoe Bay (North Slope) Alaska and family in Anchorage Alaska and me during my days off. We were flown 840 air mile to our work site from Anchorage in a B-737 jet . Our work schedule was 7 days on and 7 days off . Our work schedule and hours were (6) 12 hour days and on crew change day(wedesday) on arrival to work site we did a 7 hour shift and on departure days we only did a 5 hour shift. Great schedule and lots of time to fly to Hawaii (4 hour flight) on days off. After the construction and start up of the pipeline I was transferred back to lower 48(Texas) . Assigned to our Houston office and finally got settled in and
the first 4o hour/ 5 day week was great BUT that two days off sucked

I'm off Saturday and Sunday.

Working "banking hours" is great until you have some sort of responsibility to take care of. Doctors, dentists, banks, courts, government agencies, and even my front office tend to only be open the exact times I'm scheduled to be at work.

Today! But only because it's a federal holiday.

Technically while I'm on-call 24/7, I work the traditional days (M-F). The hours can fluctuate.

Work mon-fri 7-3

on call every 5th weekend and basically have to go into the office for 2 12 hour days on that sat and sunday. Have to go back to work monday and tuesday but then off wed-sunday. So basically get 5 days off every 6th week.

I think I may have finally gotten somewhere in trying to get a better schedule. I talked to the boss earlier this week and reasoned with him about the schedule. I asked him if it would be okay to have one Sunday and one Saturday off each month. He told me he would try to work it in the schedule so I'm hoping it works.
