I discuss politics just about everywhere I go. This has to be the most ridiculous place I've ever tried to. You people swear allegiance to one party and wish the other demonic presences on the other side of the aisle would get back on the first thing steaming to the country that brought them here.

We're simultaneously moving towards socialism according to some, and facism according to others?

We are in the middle of a national crisis. Our economy has yet to rebound, our debt is exploding, which could tank our currency, and you're worried about who will take the Senate?

We are in unprecedented times. The National Government owns a percentage, either through loans or shares, of the the banking and automotive industries. We have a company--Goldman Sachs--that heard about the TARP money and became a BHC the same day the government started handing out checks, THEN TURNED A RECORD PROFIT! And they aren't the only ones. American Express, for instance. We're going to tank our currency over these hand-outs because the banking industry couldn't stay in business, and we didn't want the American people to suffer through another Great Depression AND THESE GUYS JUST TOOK IT BECAUSE IT'S GOOD FOR BUSINESS!

Goldman's response? "Stop writing checks!"

So we hold our POLITICANS responsible?!?!?!?!?! (oh, it's cronyism!) :bang

We started to regulate the Credit Card industry, something the Obama Administration can say they did right. However, it gave them a loop-hole, a grace-time to get their house in order (10 months). Now, they are lowering credit limits. Now, when I say they are lowering, I mean that if you have 12,000 dollars in charges, they lower it to 9,000--you better get it under or they will charge you late-fees and raise your percentage rate. A company came out with a 79.6% APR credit card last week!
That's a loan-shark!

Alan Greenspan, who has championioned deregulation his entire career has turned-heel. The argument that business would regulate itself to stay in business, gone. President Clinton sold our jobs to foreign countries, he signed the banking bill that allowed these huge conglomerates to form in the first place. President Bush did nothing to change the situation on Wall Street.

It's the businesses, stupid. And if they don't care if we have a currency when this is over. So when you bitch about the same fucking things over and over, you are allowing them to rob us blind! GROW THE FUCK UP!

Well Darrin, your alter-ego has a point. Congress keeps passing other silly things while we are focused on other things.

But then...

That's old news. They've been doing that for years.

Wall St, and their ex-employees, esp Goldman Sucks ex-employees, are the "capitalists" I love to hate. You fuckers can't read for shit.

How about this: If Magic Negro had gone Resolution Trust Corp on all the bankrupt TBTF banks, wiped out the shareholders, and broke them up, and re-implemented Glass-Steagall, you assholes would be yelling "socialism" and "anti-free marketer".

It's called frustration. And that means you read them before you got to the end?
