View Full Version : Don't we all just want the same thing?

Sometimes I glance at this forum and wonder how Spurs fans have managed to lose their way. So many petty flame wars playing out in thread after thread after thread. So many threads with Spurs fans giving up at the first sight of adversity in the playoffs. Spurs fans need to remember how they felt prior to the first Larry O'Brien trophy. Back when they would've sacrificed their firstborn to see the Spurs win a NBA championship, let alone twice. Remember the hunger, Spurs fans? Remember the anxiety and yet the confidence that one day, somehow, we'd get there? It's time for us to check ourselves and get that feeling back, that San Antonio de Bexar against anyone feeling.

If by "wanting the same thing" you mean a back to back Championship for the Pistons you'd be correct.

That's the thing. Everyone wants that third championship. But many disagree about the methods and tactics that will bring the title back to San Antonio.

Most people are arguing because they really want the team to win and they believe that their way is what will make it happen. People aren't giving up. People are arguing because they have passion and want the team to win.

Don't misread what is going on.

I haven't misread the level of hysteria, lack of confidence, and complacency in this forum.

I haven't misread the level of hysteria, lack of confidence, and complacency in this forum.

I think people are generally pretty confident. The only exceptions are the people who are always negative just for the sake of being negative. And all of the passionate arguing about seemingly minor things suggests to me that complacency isn't a problem.

Hysteria is a product of message boards in general.

At least people have something to talk about. It would suck if it wasn't like this. This place would be pretty darn boring if that was the case.

Why did you have to bring up that whole "First Born" thing again, Peter? I miss him. :hat

We're taking back what is ours.

And that could very well happen...I will say that I very much want a Spurs/Pistons final. It'd be a fantastic, hard fought series.
