shit was all weird tonight.

Dyess 7 minutes
Finley 0 minutes
Blair 10 minutes
Bonner 12 minutes

totally different then how the minutes were getting distributed before the all star break.

maybe our front office was getting so little interest in Finley this past week, even as an expiring throw-in, that they finally realized he's not in any teams future... or ours. "Semi-retirement" may not be far off... doubtful given Pops affinity to Fin, but one can hope.

At least we made adjustments. Some of them were weird, but it's a start I guess. This was definitely Finley's best game this year.

Now all we need is Bogans to play 0 minutes and it's addition by subtraction..I'd rather see Pop play the 2/3 instead of Bogans..

Mason didn't make much of a case for him to get more minutes tonight however.

Spurs played small for 32 minutes tonight, Indy played small for 34 minutes. Things should be much different next game. Philly doesn't play small very much.

It's a positive sign, but Pop's still flailing, which is a signal of desperation. The minutes tonight don't give any indication that there's any logical rotation for the players to look forward to.

When he does happen to make a case to get more minutes, he gets rewarded with the same uncertainty he's had all year. 4 minutes one night and 20 minutes another night and DNP-CD another night isn't really a way to establish a shooter or to get your players get used to playing together.

Blair's limited limits were probably due to all those quick fouls he picked up.

This, also for a shooter like mason the sporadic minutes are killer to him getting into a rhythm. They would be to about any shooter.

Not at all contradictory. It might be if the Spurs were playing with some rhythm or had any logic to their starting lineups or rotations on February 17. I wanted Mahinmi and Hairston in the rotation four months ago, and I wanted Mason starting on opening night. That those haven't happened by the end of the all-star break isn't my fault. The fact that the Spurs are still changing their lineups and giving guys huge fluctuations in minutes from game to game just supports my position.

Why do we have to match up with a scrub team?
Which of our bigs is Danny Granger going to guard?

Awesome, you want DeJuan Blair or Matt Bonner or McDyess to guard a 20 point a game scoring small forward.....

Why doesn't Pop ever make the opposing team react to our line ups??

It's always us reacting to what the opposition does.

Yeah, Danny Granger is sooooo goood... that's why the Pacers are lottery bound... He's a fucking chucker... I rather let him chuck away and grab rebounds... You can't expect Tim to have 26 boards every game...

Finley's only role should be wrestling Bogans to the ground so he can't get in the game.

You can put Blair/Bonner/McDyess on Brandon Rush and play the drive ( give him space and let him let it fly from outside).

Then you can use Jefferson or Bogans on Granger.

Yeah, it's a far better idea to make lineup adjustments against an 18-35 team to try to stop a guy who's gone over 30 points about four times this season.

Good enough to guard McDyess? I don't see the Lakers sitting Pau or Bynum when they play the Pacers... Is Danny Granger only good against the Spurs?

There's no reason not to impose our will against these teams.

Durant is a stud.. and his team's record reflect that fact... Granger is a chucker and his team's record reflect exactly that too...

He shot and scored above his average and the teams were tied with a minute to go. I'm sorry, but what part of that adjustment by the Spurs was a success again?

Hey, let's pull from the "Dirk would have scored 50 per game in 2006" playbook and suggest he would have fouled Duncan and Dice out by halftime.

Pop's been told what a genius coach he is, so he has to do it all himself. Imagine where all these scrub players would be without his guidance and strategy.
